My brother's best friend

Chapter One - Me

"Y/N hurry up now. I don't have time the entire day." my brother screams form downstairs. "I am coming." I shout back. I am already late for my last school day and my brother needs to get to work.

"Are you sure you are not going to make it to my speech?" I ask as we get into the car and my brother drives off. "I am sorry but I guess not. I also am not able to pick you up afterwards because I can't leave earlier. But a friend of mine is in town and he will take you home." he says. I look at him sadly. "Okay. Do you think mom or dad will show up?" I ask carefully because this is normally not a topic we are talking about a lot. "I honestly don't know. I am sorry." he answers. I nod and look out of the window.

My brother's name is Toby. He is really tall and is very muscular. He has blonde hair and blue eyes. He is this type of boy that every girl wants. He has always been the most popular guy at school and he was the High School crush of everyone.

I am completely different. I am 16 years old. I don't give a fuck what other people think of me and I am not very pretty. I love reading and staying at home watching movies and eating ice cream. I don't have many friends. There are just a few people that I talk to at school. I am for myself most of the times but that's okay. I had a boyfriend once but he broke my heart and left my after three months. 

All in one my life is a total mess. My parents got divorced one year ago and I moved into a small flat in the middle of Toronto with my brother. Our parents never really cared about us and we haven't heard of them since we left. We don't have any other relatives because they are all dead or in prison. So you can kind of figure out what my childhood was like. Toby was always there for me and he is more like a dad and a mom for me than a brother. He is five years older than me and really grown up. He is working in an office in Toronto and he is earning quite a lot. I am so glad that I have him and I love him more than anything else.

"Okay. Have a great last school day. Don't listen to what other people say because you are awesome and you know that." Toby says as he stops in front of my school. "I know. Thank you. Have a great day. Love you." I say as I jump out of the car.

I enter the classroom and my teacher comes right behind me. Wow. Perfect timing. I hope he isn't going to say anything. That would be so embarrassing.
