The First Moment

As Embry peeled himself off the bed, I heaved myself out of my slouching position against the warm body of Seth. I climbed off of my bed to meet Embry at the door of my room, I hugged him tight around his waist.

"Goodnight, Embry." I whispered into his chest.

"Goodnight, Niah," He whispered back. "Don't do anything crazy you two."

He gave me this look of, you'll get that answer tonight.

I got all of sudden very nervous. Not anxious, But nervous. Usually in situations like this, me finding out information, I got very anxious. But I felt nervous. Which was good, I guess.

"Of course, Embry."I replied with a slight giggle.

"We will behave, man." Seth laughed as he was texting on his phone.

With those words, Embry left my room. He left the door cracked like I prefer it.

"So whatcha want to talk about?" Seth flipped onto his stomach, playing with his phone in his hands.

I took a deep breath folding my hands together, turning to face him. I was still facing the door that Embry just closed. "Well, why don't we pick up where we left off?"

"Sure!" He turned on his side as I approached the end of the bed. I sat crosslegged on the opposite end of the bed, so I could face him. I was eager to know more about what was going on.

"We were at imprinting, right?" He asked me.

I nodded as Maverick curled up next to my cross legged legs.

"Okay, so imprinting it's basically love at first sight," He was confident with saying this, almost as if he knew what he was talking about. "But it's more powerful then that."

The way he was talking about imprinting, he was so calm and sure about what he was talking about. It made me calm down, in a strange way. I got lost in his voice, it pulled me in like nothing else I have experienced before. He knew exactly what he was talking about, almost as if he had experienced it before.

"Oh," I nodded, still in his trance. "Have you experienced imprinting before?"

"It's a one time thing, it's not like it happens multiple times." He further explained, shifting uncomfortably on his side to his back. Almost as if to avoid eye contact.

"You didn't answer the question." I softly told him. I shifted myself so I was laying on my side, looking at him with Maverick between us.

"I was getting to it, "He chuckled under his breath.

"Oh, well, Sorry. " I laughed back at him.

He finally turned back on his side to face me. I was playing with Maverick's fur. It was soft and comforting. He started playing with maverick's fur too.

"Yes I have." I looked up to see him.

He wasn't looking at me when he said this, he was very interested in Maverick's fur at this point. " Or well, I think I have. I'm pretty sure I have."

"Oh." I said softly, my gaze shifting back to Maverick's fur.

"They tell us we will know when it happens, but not many of us know what that feels like. Sam does, Jared does, even freaking Paul does, but no one else yet. It's kind of frustrating." He sighs still playing with Maverick's fur.

I propped up on one elbow, determined to make eye contact with him. "Have you asked them about how it feels?"

"Yes," He sighed, looking up at the ceiling. " All they say is, is that it's no longer gravity holding you here anymore. It's her. That you physically will be anything they need, A friend, brother, protector, or Lover. That's all they say. I understand it, I do. But that's just not what I felt."
