Chapter 1

"John!" called Hercules as he ran up to his friend. John turned and smiled at him, stopping to let him catch up. When they were side by side, they continued walking. "Soo.." started the Irish man," What are you doing this year?" "Herc, you already know that I want to be a psychologist." Laurens said with playfulness in his voice. Herc laughed "I know, I know... I always thought you wanted to be a biologist or something. Since you loved turtles and all..." he trailed off. "I still love turtles." John said, referring to his ID card and shirt, which had a picture of turtles on it. "I just feel like helping these people is more important than that... I feel like it's calling me..." he said as he stopped infront of a huge pair of steel gates. Hercules shivered at the sight of the building before him, just beyond the gates. "W-Well, this is where I l-leave you!" He said as he fidgetted with his phone. "O-oh, look at that! Laf texted me. He needs help? Oh, then I've got to g-go. S-See you at 10pm!" He called before running off. John laughed before looking at the gates.

"Well, here goes nothing"

He stepped into the hospital and heard the door click shut behind him. It wasn't at all what he had expected. The walls were a bright blue and the lights were bright and full. The staff wore brightly colored clothes and smiles that went with them. "Hi!" Called one of the girls. "You must be John Laurens, right?" John nodded in response.  "Great! Well , I'm Margarita, but everyone calls me Peggy." She wore a bright yellow blouse with white jeans. "That there's Maria." She pointed to a girl wearing a red shirt and blue jeans. "That's Theodosia." She pointed to a young woman in a light purple sundress. "And that's Eliza." She said, pointing to a girl wearing a sky blue dress. John nodded in understanding. "Well, let's see your file and we'll see who you'll be taking care of..." Peggy said as she walked off behind the front desk,  her bright shirt catching the small glares of sunlight, causing John to wince. "Oh dear..." Peggy said before rushing off to the other girls mentioned before. John stood still as the girls gasped and looked at him with pity.  "There's nothing we can do to change their minds,  is there?" whispered Maria, looking down. "I-Im afraid not...." Eliza said. "B-But he's new here! He can't handle him!" Cried Peggy.  "Pegs,  there's nothing we can do." pleaded Eliza and Maria. "Angelica, Thomas, and Burr signed this already, not to mention George and Martha... they just want him back to how he was before ... we all do..." Eliza trailed off silently.  "I know." Theodosia said before hugging Eliza softly, letting her cry softly into her shoulder. Maria held Peggy closely as she stroked her hair, holding back cries. "I'm confused..." said John,  startling the girls. "Goodness, me! I forgot we had a newbie!" cried Theodosia. "Should we tell him? " asked Maria. "Well, he is going to be taking care of Alex, he mind as well know what happened." stated Peggy. 

'Who is Alex?' thought John.

Alright,  this is chapter 1 of a new book I started. Sorry for it being short btw. Hopefully this one I won't forget about... heh...*nervously laughs* A-Anyways!!😖😖 Changing subject here, tell me if you want me to update any of my other stories.  Love y'all~♡
