finally. lunch time.
my favorite part of the day.
you walk to the cafeteria and groan out of
annoyance due to the amount of wreck-less teens.
you head to your usual table where
you
jack
steven
ella
and sometimes ayla sit.
ayla has a later lunch so she sits
with us the last 5-10 minutes of our lunch.
you're usually the first person at the table
since you're so desperate to get out of class.
you unpack your lunch and draw out a carrot

"may i sit?" steven asks

"indeed you may."
he takes a seat and sits across from you

"dude so mrs. beiks went insane on ella this
morning"
"wait really? why? what happened?"
you say lurking for details

"okay so apparently she studied for the wrong test, I have no clue how she got today's mixed up with friday's, but you know ella, she can be a dumb bitch sometimes."
you nod and giggle

"why did she get so mad though when she would
have had to turn it in anyways?"
"because its mrs. beiks, she's very organized and
likes everything to be done in her order."
"you right you right" you say in agreement

jack then rushes over
taking the seat next to you.
"what's up blondie?"
you smirk
"mucho mistrust, loves gone behind."
he mumbles the lyrics of heart of glass
while chewing on a pb&j

"yo there are ladies present"
steven states

"you're the only lady at this table"
jack says back
"ooo burnnn"

you fist bump jack while wiggling your fingers.
you've both always done that after a snarky remark
since 6th grade.

"where's ella?" you ask

"she's coming, mrs beiks felt the need to
chew her out some more" jack says

"I wish i was in that class with you guys,
seems like a party every day"

"the party of hell" ella says
while walking up to the table.

"aye there's my girl" steven pats his hand
on the seat next to him as a signal for
her to sit.

"bad morning?" you ask

"nah, i'm so used to it that it doesn't really affect
me anymore." she says carelessly

"good for you for being so insensitive!"
jack says with a sarcastic smile

"hey you guys wanna go see a movie later? tristan
is having a couple friends over and I don't want to be stuck at the house with them."

steven and ella look at each other
"uhh i don't think I can make it tonight"
ella says
"yeah uhm, we- i mean i have plans"

"listen, I get you guys are going to get groovy with each other tonight you don't have to hide it"

"it's just our second time!"
ella says trying to sound innocent

jack then chokes on his doritos

"I think that's enough information for today ella,"
steven assures

"sorry babe"

"you're good"

"oh am I?" she winks at steven

you spit out your water
"okay me and jack have left the chat"
you say frantically

"to change the subject, i'm free tonight if you don't
mind me tagging along with you"
jack shrugs

"aw yay finally someone who won't ditch me
for sex!"
you say sarcastically
"but sure bub, whatcha wanna go see?"

"mid90's just came out, ayla and finn
said it was really good."

"oh yeah let's go see that, i think there's
a showing at 7:00, is that good?"
you ask

"yeah thats fine do you want me to pick you up?"

"I mean I wouldn't mind..."

- the bell rings -

"be ready at 6:30, catch ya after school"
he says while walking from the table.
you watch him as he turn the corner going
into the halls

"hey y/n? snap out of it"
steven claps in your face.

"oh sorry haha"

"is something going on between
you and anderson that we don't know about?"
he asks

you stand up putting everything back into your bag
"oh, no.... no steven were just friends."

"just friends?" he laughs
"that's what they all say."

you roll your eyes and walk to your class
