Asgard or Midgard

-Why would I go with you?

-Didn't you notice what you accomplished against that monster? A man, even trained in combat, would not have held on as long. But, though you have never learned how to fight or set a foot off of this planet, you showed skills that we could find on Asgard. My father should be able to enlighten me on how this is possible.

"Heimdall, open the Bifrost"

He had to repeat this sentence several times before a tunnel of light fell on them and snatched them up into the sky.

They landed on a big platform, next to a sword and inside a large dome. A man, Heimdall, deduced Maeva, was lying unconscious on the ground. Thor's four friends took Heimdall to see a doctor as the god of thunder and Maeva went to find his father. He was lying, comatose, under a golden aura. Next to him was the queen, holding a man with black hair in her grasp.

-Loki!

Both new arrivals had exclaimed in unison but in different tones. Thor, who said it angrily, looked at Maeva, whose voice had held a pinch of relief, confusion over both of their faces.

The man they had called out to broke away from his mother and looked at his brother with contempt.

-My dear brother, you finally came back.

-Why send the destroyer to Midgard? You wanted to make sure that I could not come back and reign.

Thor's anger was only increasing. He dismissed Maeva, who was lost and didn't know why she felt all of these emotions suddenly. She found herself beside the queen, who seemed exhausted.

With his newly returned hammer, Thor attacked first. Loki parried this assault thanks to his scepter. They quickly found themselves outside, Maeva followed them but made sure to stay hidden. The attacks grew more and more violent. In a few seconds, Thor found himself surrounded by Loki, who was divided into a dozen illusions.

-You arrived too late brother. I'm going to destroy Jotunheim, to make father proud of me, and then I'll go on to Midgard, I'll find your human and-

-Enough!

Thor made all the illusions disappear and put his brother on the ground. He put the hammer on his chest so that he couldn't stand up anymore. He turned to the Bifrost and stepped forward, once in front of it he held out his arm and the hammer came to his hand. Before Loki could get up to join Thor, he began to destroy the bridge.

-What are you doing? If you destroy the Bifrost, you'll never be able to see her again.

-She'll forgive me.

Saying that, he struck the fatal blow and the Bifrost sank into the void.

Maeva did not understand what was happening. She was jostled by Odin who was running to save his sons. She followed him, a feeling of fear starting to appear inside her.

She was right behind the king when Thor and Loki fell. Odin held out his scepter to his son who grabbed it and his brother.

-Father, I could have succeeded

-No, Loki, you couldn't.

At this remark, Loki released his brother and the scepter and fell into the void.

-No, Loki!

Maeva and Thor screamed, this time with the same sadness in their voices. Tears rose in the girl's eyes without her understanding why, after all she only knew his name, but his face, it seemed so familiar to her.

Once Thor got back onto the deck, Odin noticed Maeva's presence for the first time.

-Why did you bring her to Asgard?

-During the fight against the Destroyer she did some things that Midgardians are normally unable to do.

-Come with me, I have to tell you something.

Odin settled onto his throne, he invited the two young people to sit down and listen to him

-When you and Loki were children, you had a friend, a soldier's girl. He died in battle when she was only a baby. She sort of grew up with you, and when her mother died, she was welcomed here. She was very close to your brother. When Loki started to show his powers, she developed similar ones. We moved her away from him and sent her to another planet by erasing both of your memories of her and giving her false memories.

-And how does that affect me? asked Maeva

-That young girl, it's you.
