Asgard or Midgard

Several months had passed since the last events. Maeva had lived at the palace after recovering her memories and she began training with Thor to fight, and with the queen to increase and manage her powers. While Thor and Maeva were training, Odin arrived and asked them to follow him.

-I called you both here because it seems that Loki may still be alive on Midgard looking for the Tesseract. I'm sending you there to check this without delay. I'll open a portal so that you'll land where Loki's presence has last been detected.

Barely a few minutes later the portal was created. Thor and Maeva ventured inside of it and found that they were above a helicopter. Thanks to Mjolnir, Thor maneuvered them into the cabin. Loki was actually alive, sitting and tied up. Thor walked over to him and said:

-Maeva, stay here. I'll take care of Loki and then come back to get you.

With these words, he grabbed his brother and flew away with his hammer. Maeva was back at the exit so she didn't see the two men who jumped after Thor.

-Let's go back to SHIELD headquarters, Tony and Steve will find us there,- suggested a red-haired woman.

-Excuse me, but who are you? Asked Maeva

-I'm agent Romanoff and this is Dr. Banner. Our mission is to recover the Tesseract that is currently in Loki's possession.

After returning to the Helicarrier, Maeva remained silent while waiting for Thor. A long hour passed before the heroes came back with Loki.

-This is Steve Rogers, Captain America, and Tony Stark, also know as Iron Man. We gathered the best to get our hands on the Tesseract that was stolen from you by your brother,- said Director Fury, looking at Thor, and turning to Maeva he added, -your... friend?

Maeva did not respond and got closer to Thor. She didn't feel comfortable with all of these people.

-We must discover what Loki has planned.

-Maeva, you could make him reveal his plans. You're the only one who can,- proposed Thor.

Everyone turned their gaze to the embarrassed girl.

-We need information Maeva, you have to extract it from him.

-I'm sorry, I can't do this.

Captain America approached the girl and asked:

-Are you with us or against us?

-Show me where he is.

Agent Coulson accompanied her to Loki's cell, which was in a wing separate from the main base. He led her to the front of the door and told her to enter. Hearing footsteps, Loki turned around and went to the window.

-So, you're on their side.

-I'm not on anyone's side. I don't agree with what you did but I'm not against you. I'm supposed to get information from you but I know you won't tell me anything.

-Indeed but I have a question for you. While I was falling into the emptiness of the universe, I fell asleep against my will. When I woke up, I had new memories, all about the same person. It was you, wasn't it? That's why they sent you, because I'm more vulnerable in front of you.

Maeva silently nodded and so Loki continued:

-I'll tell you something so they'll believe you're on their side. Tell them about the monster they invited to come here.

-Thanks

-Go now. Your presence makes me feel things that I do not want to feel, it weakens me.

Maeva smiled before leaving the room. She searched for the group of people she was with earlier and eventually ended up in a laboratory. Bruce and Tony were behind the desk right in the middle of some research while Thor, Natasha, and Steve were sitting around the large conference table in the middle of the room. At the sound of Maeva's footsteps each of them got up and they waited patiently for her to tell them what had happened.

-I couldn't get much from him but he mentioned a monster you would had invited to come here.

All, except Maeva, turned to Dr. Banner and a huge fight broke out.

At the moment the dispute finally ended, a huge bang was heard at the other end of the helicarrier. Everyone prepared for battle. Captain America took his shield, Thor seized his hammer and Iron Man began to put on his armor. They rushed to the main office in the center of the ship.

-One of our engines was put out of action. Agent Romanoff and Dr. Banner will check in the basement,- said Director Fury.

-I'll go see if I can do anything for the engine. Captain, I'm counting on you to watch my back.

Tony Stark, who had just spoken, went straight to the faulty engine. All that remained was Thor and Maeva waiting for their orders.

-Both of you, make sure Loki does not escape.

They quickly left, Maeva leading Thor as she knew the route the cell.

The god of thunder advanced towards the cell's window, he was not risking anything since his brother was always scheming. Before Maeva had time to warn him, Thor was trapped behind the window and Loki was standing in front of him with his satisfied smile. Without even paying attention to Maeva, who was in front of the exit, he turned to leave. Agent Coulson arrived discreetly during this and tried to stop him by brandishing a weapon he was unfamiliar with. Loki was in a trance. He threw a dagger right into the agent's heart who then reflexively pulled the trigger before closing his eyes and letting out his last breath. Maeva was still in the doorway, she faced her childhood friend so that he could not pass. He put a hand on her shoulder and said:

-Please let me go, I don't want to hurt you.

Maeva looked at him and saw deep in his blue eyes that he was sincere. She moved aside whilst continuing to watch him until he was no longer in her sight.
