Despite the shocked look on Maeva's face, she wasn't that surprised, it was as if everything had finally been explained.

-So that's how you knew so many things about Asgard.

-It's like all my memories came back little by little ever since Thor arrived on Midgard.

Odin spoke as he stood up:

-As you've probably noticed, Loki's powers can be dangerous if they are directed through anger. It was important that you were not raised with this internal anger. Frigga considered you to be her daughter. It was normal for you to develop certain abilities, especially since your closeness to Loki helped them to grow faster and more intensely, as much for you as for him.

-So, I have powers?

-You don't realize what you did on Midgard. You disappeared and reappeared a little further away. You ran and suddenly we couldn't see you. I've never seen Loki do that.

-Your brother has developed powers that Maeva doesn't have and vice versa. As for you girl, I hope you didn't plan to return to Midgard for the moment, given that the Bifrost is destroyed, there is no way to leave Asgard. You can stay here if you want, I would like you to see Frigga, I think she would be happy to see you. She is the only inhabitant in the palace who remembers you.

Odin motioned for them to follow him. They found themselves in a large room that seemed to be the reception room. The queen had her back to them as she was looking out through the large windows. She heard them arrive and drew a smile while she quickly wiped away her tears. Her eyes remained red and swollen, witnesses of her sadness.

-Frigga, do you remember Maeva?

-Of course, yes, that poor little girl, she'd be devastated if she knew about Loki's death.

-Excuse me, I don't understand everything that's going on. Madam, I am truly saddened by the death of your son but,...

She didn't have time to finish her sentence as she was surrounded by the arms of the queen.

-I'm sorry, it's sad that you can't remember. Did my husband explain why?

Odin stepped forward and spoke up:

-I could not explain everything to her. Perhaps it would be better to give you back your memories Maeva, what do you think about that?

-I would really like to remember my childhood and my real parents.

Frigga wrapped her arm around Maeva's shoulders and said:

-If I were to restore your memories, I would have to break the spell for all of the people affected, which includes Thor.

-That's good, I want to remember Maeva.

-It's not you who would regain the most memories of her, but let's do this. Let's go to the infirmary, we will need some beds.

Once settled on the beds, Frigga undertook the task to break the enchantment. She put all those concerned to sleep and then she began her incantations.

When Maeva woke up, she burst into tears as all the memories swiftly returned. Loki, her whole childhood was made up of memories of them together, sometimes Thor joined them.

She didn't know what to think, what to feel. She felt happy that she finally remembered her past, but her best friend had just died so tears poured down her cheeks.

Thor was not further saddened by the returned memories but he understood Maeva's state. He rose from his bed and approached her's.

-Listen Maeva, the Loki that you remember has been gone for a while, he had become angrier and more violent as the years passed.

-The Loki that I remember, as you said, already had a very angry temperament. He just knew how to contain himself.

-Especially since he had someone who helped him and in front of whom he didn't want to get upset, added Frigga

Odin finally spoke:

-If you want to know everything, there is something else I have to tell you. Loki is not my real son, he came from Jotunheim. He was a little abandoned child on the devastated landscape after the battle, he was alone and full of tears so I brought him to Asgard. During one of our recent quarrels, I revealed it to him in a haze of anger. After that, nothing could stop him, he was so angry.

Maeva stood up and took a few steps before falling from exhaustion. Thor and Frigga hastened to catch her.

-Poor child, you need some sleep. It's understandable given all the information you have just learned. We have some free bedrooms, Thor and I will take you to one.

The girl tried to walk as best as she could, and once she was laying down she fell asleep in a snap of her fingers.
