You Look Quite Tasty

"But I don't wanna go," I whine like a little kid. Luca and I sat in his car out in the school parking lot. "Human school sucks so much. I already had to go through shitty pup school with my elders all my life. I don't see th-"

My whining was cut off with Luca's lips pressed firmly against mine. I kiss him back wanting this to last forever. Not in a romantic way, well... kinda, but more so I don't have to go to school. His hand moves to my thigh as I cup the side of his face with one hand while the other grabs his shirt collar. The sudden want for his mark washed over me. I can tell he's feeling the same as his hands move to my hips pulling me closer. His kisses move down my jaw to the nape of my neck. A burning sensation runs through me as his fangs dig deep into my sensitive skin. The pain was almost unbearable but it was over as fast as it came. Luca gently licked the wound as it began to heal, sending a wave of pleasure. He pulled away, his eyes dark red. Mine is most likely bright blue and I felt my fangs sprout in my mouth along with my claws. Both of us are half wolfed out and damn it's hot. The scent of arousal hits us like a truck.

A knock on the driver's side window pulled us back to reality and back into human mode. Landon and Colton both stood there with glaring eyes. We got out of the car to talk, hoping our scents don't give us away.

"What the hell sis? You know, literally, everyone can see you two making out, right?" Colt had his arms crossed while glaring at me. At this moment he looks so much like Dad.

I look to Luca for help but he was in a heated conversation with his brother. I turn back to Colt. "Full moon is tomorrow. Feeling jumpy or agitated at all? Murderous maybe?" I say jokingly, trying to change the topic.

"No!" He snapped. Yup, he's feeling it.

I let out a sigh, "When was the last time you went for a run?" I pause for a quick answer but he had to really think about it. "Exactly. You know that you get agitated around a full moon if you haven't shifted in a while."

He looks down to his feet. "I know. It's just that since this is a new place I don't feel comfortable to shift by myself."

"We can go running after school together, okay? Just don't rip anyone's head off before then." He looked up at me with a weak smile.

We soon all go our separate ways and it's about halfway through the third period. I look up to the clock for one-millionth time. It's only been three minutes? What the hell? Something feels wrong. Like I feel like I'm going to be sick and my head is pounding like no other. I can't take this anymore or I may bring up the contents of my stomach.

I excuse myself from the class calmly but as soon as I got into the hall I sprint down the hall to a side door. The same side door from day one. With my super speed, I ended up at the tree line behind the school before I'm able to stop myself. I use a tree to support me before I hurled. What I didn't expect were the contents to be blood. I hurled again.

"Looks like you're having a bad day." I look up to see a girl with blonde almost white hair and her eyes are red with veins popping up underneath them. I get the whiff of death and wipe my mouth as I stand up straight, still using the tree as support.

"You could say that." I let out a low chuckle. Just my luck, a vampire.

"Your body is not reacting well with your mark. Your mate is the resident Alpha, correct?" She asks. Wolf-bloods and Vampires don't really get along since we match in abilities and rank the same on the supernatural food chain. This means only our kind has the capability to rip each other apart. I don't answer her. I'm weak so in a fight, she would defiantly win. It's not like I'm scared of her but I want to choose my words and actions carefully not to set that in motion.

"Yes. You can smell it in my blood, can't you."

"I can. I can also tell you that you are already healing from this." She paused briefly before continuing. "I'm Lyllith by the way."

"Kat." Did she smell the blood from inside the school? Did she think it was a quick meal?

Lyllith must've read my facial expression. "I was playing hooky because a human cut themselves in my cooking class and I had to get out of there. Stupid humans, clumsy as hell but oh they smell delicious."

This made me laugh. I'm starting to feel better and my head is clearing up. Suddenly, voices started to fill my head along with a high pitched whistle. I cover my ears and kneel on the ground from the pain in my ears. "Fuck," I mutter more to myself than to Lyllith.

She starts laughing hysterically. "I'm so glad I'm not a wolf-blood. It must get irritating hearing everyone all the time."

I stand back up shaking my head once the voices calm down. "It's honestly is very helpful when we shift or want to talk shit about someone without them knowing." We both laugh at the last part.

"You just moved here not too long ago. Have you meet Brittney and her girls?"

"Unfortunately. They keep calling me a dog." I ball my fists as I seeth the word dog.

Lyllith nods in understanding at how disrespectful that word is for us wolf-bloods. "It makes sense that she's getting on your nerves. She has been swooning over your mate since he became Alpha three years ago. That's how she met Sirena and Jennifer. All part of the fan club."

"So Luca became Alpha when he was fifteen?" I couldn't even imagine having that role pushed onto you that young. Hell, that's when most wolves have their first shift.

She nodded but then a look of shock came across her face, "We should go back inside. Not all vampires are as controlled as I am." I look behind me where she was staring but it was too late as I come face to face with a tall white-haired, red-eyed, vampire.

He had a smirk plastered on his lips as he scanned over my body. "I can't believe I'm saying this about a wolf-blood, but you look quite tasty." He winked at the end.

"Kieth!" Lyllith whisper-yells at him for the comment.

"Yes, sister?"

I laugh at his statement. A state of confusion is clear on his face. "I honestly can't tell if you are saying that in a sexual way or in a way you want to literally eat me."

Where are you? The teacher said you never showed up in your last class. Luca's voice popped into my head. That's why I had so many voices at once. I'm no longer part of my pack but instead in Luca's. I guess it's also mine now too officially.

"I got to go, Luca's calling." I turn to Lyllith, "Nice meeting you Lyllith, hope to see you around." With that, I run across the field effortlessly to the side door and walked in. The hallway was crowded as people were heading to lunch.

I started walking down the hall trying to find Luca's scent. I'm stopped by Queen Bitch herself standing in front of me just as I see Luca just down the hall coming towards me.

"Can I help you?" I say full of sass and sarcasm to Brittney

"What did I say about staying away from Luca?" Her fulled in eyebrows formed into an ugly glare.

"Sorry but you see, we are mates so you'll have to take it up with the Moongodess about that." I spit back as I shrug casually.

"This "Moongodess" of ours is a shitty excuse for getting your ass kicked..." She continued trash-talking the only thing I believe in and disrespecting all wolf-blood religion. My hands are in tight fists as my claws start to dig into my palms, blood dripping to the floor. Once again my anger showing its colours. "So stay away from him, dog." She finally finished and tried pushing past me.

I grab her arm preventing her from passing me. My head is full of anger and spite. There is one thing that I hate more than being called a dog, that's if someone disrespects our true mother.

Think of what you are doing, Kat. Humans are starting to gather. Don't expose yourself here. Luca's voice calms me a little.

"Tonight, at ten in the clearing next to the wall," I whisper to her then let her go. A smirk fell on my face as a slight hint of fear came off of her. I'll prove myself to her just like I did during training to Harley. I'm sick of the bitch trying to toy with me and pulling me into her petty little games.
