Wolf-bloods take games very seriously. An example would be our version of hide n' seek. Basically, the females have ten minutes to hide in the forest and the guys are blindfolded then are sent out to seek by scent. It's a great way for mates to have fun but also a way to find your mate.

Once one of the elders yield "Go!", us girls fully sprinted into the forest. Most hid in tall trees or in hollow logs. I, on the other hand, kept running until a small waterfall appeared. I stripped my tee and laid it on a nearby rock along with my jeans. 

The night sky lite up the clear water as the stars reflect bright sparkles across the water's surface.  A soothing sound of the trickling water flows over the rocks and into the pool below. By masking my sent by going into the water will delay Luca a few moments before he turns around and fallows the sent back. 

Quickly stepping into the cold pool, I fully dunk into the black liquid. The temperature is suffocating as it surrounds every inch of my body. Even down in the deeps of the cold I could still hear the howl of my mate. It pulled me closer to the surface but I force myself back down, refusing to let him win. 

"Smart, camouflaging your sent with water." A voice was muffled by the layer of water above me but I could tell, who ever he was, knew my plan. I see his red eyes as he approached the waters edges. "But not smart enough my sweet niece." It was like everything was in slow motion. My uncle was here. His hand darts into the water inched away from my face. Unable to help myself I shift in the water, breathing water. With no other choice, I leap out of the water over his head. I feel his hand brush my right rear paw. 

Luca! I yell in hopes he hears me in all the chaos from the pack. They all know there's an intruder  as they rush to tell him all at once. Luca! Its Nicholas! 

Everyone shut the fuck up! Luca yells in an Alpha tone. Suddenly the pack link was dead silent. Kat, what was that? Get back to the house now! 

It's Nicholas. He's here. I'm about 13 miles south of the house.  I glance back to see him hot on my tail. It will them 2 minutes to get to me. All I have to do is stay in front of him. I can do this!

My legs take large and fast steps as I dodge trees and bushes trying to lose him. His wolf is giant compared to mine but I've always been faster. Panic starts to set in as memories of what he did to me and my mother flood my head. I'm so unfocused on the woods ahead of me, I trip over a fallen log. I land on my back as Nicholas's body pins me to the ground. His jaws are centimeters from my neck as his claws dig into my side. 

With as much strength I can use, I push him off of me and get into a defensive position. So much anger radiates off the both of us. He's about to attack when the sounds of paws hitting the ground nears us. Within a blink of an eye, Nicholas was gone. 

Luca came into the clearing with snarled teeth. He looks around the small clearing them runs up to me. His rubs against mine then he starts licking my face to make sure I was okay. 

Are you okay? Where is that bastard?! 

I'm fine. He bolted when we heard you coming. I turn to start walking back to the pack house. Let's head back and calm the pack and make sure no-one was hurt while he was here. He nods and runs next to me all the way to the house. I catch him sneaking glances at me occasionally. 

Once we made it back to the pack house, a dark brown wolf with blue eyes comes straight up to us. Luca shift and so did the wolf, it was Kurt. 

"The intruder left no scent for us to follow but from what the few that saw him said, it looks like Alpha Gaskarth." I shift as well as we are handed clothing items. "The pack is worried that the Gaskarth pack is behind the hunter and Leo's death." 

"It wasn't my father." I say bluntly as I look down at my feet still feeling overwhelmed. "My Uncle is back for me and this time he won't let me get away."
