Hot Chocolate

Despite Jisung's scolding the day before, he still snuck out. This time he was better protected from the delicate snowflakes covering the houses. His thin jacket was replaced with a sweatshirt, his jeans being traded in for some comfy sweatpants. The flashing neon sign reassured Jisung that even in the below freezing weather, his favorite cornerstone was still open. He wondered if it ever really closed.

Jisung walked into the familiar store, his hood already pulled tightly over his head. He had been reckless the day before, letting Chenle see his hair, he couldn't slip up again. The lady from yesterday was still behind the counter and looked up only when she heard him stomping the snow out of his Vans.

"Back for more ramen?" She asked with a smile. The smile wasn't the same as Chenle's, it held a more suggestive and malicious tone. Jisung glanced around awkwardly, avoiding eye contact with the unprofessional employee. He walked away without replying, trying in vain to hide behind the short aisles. He felt a pair of hands grip his wrist and spun around, nearly kissing Chenle due to their close proximity.

"I brought you something," the shorter said as he dragged Jisung through the aisles to their signature table. The feeling of Chenle's hand on his wrist ignited a fire on his face, his hair following suit. Thankfully, the hoodie covered his pink locks and Chenle was too focused on navigating the small maze to notice his burning face. Two white mugs were waiting for them, one covered with whipped cream and marshmallows.

"It's hot chocolate," Chenle whispered sheepishly, refusing to meet Jisung's eyes. Jisung gently brought his free hand to Chenle's face, forcing the boy to make eye contact with him. Both boys cheeks were dusted a light pink but neither looked away.

"Thank you," Jisung whispered as he removed his hand from Chenle. He licked his lips hungrily as he eyed the chocolate treat on the table. The steam wafted into his face like the ramen had as he sat down and poked at the tiny marshmallows floating around. It was getting hot under his hoodie but he refused to be vulnerable again. Jisung daintily sipped at the drink, trying his best not to burn his tongue.

"Ouchie!" Chenle yelped from across from him, his tongue lolled out of his mouth like a panting dog. "I burned it," he mumbled, unable to talk properly.

"Cute," Jisung whispered to himself as he watched Chenle fan his tongue. The boy continued his theatrical fanning before finally having the courage to drink his hot chocolate once again. Jisung was watching the marshmallows bob in the dark liquid, completely going into his own world. A chair scraped across the ground, knocking Jisung out of his trance. He looked up and locked eyes with Chenle, who had moved close enough for their knees to touch. Jisung subconsciously crossed his legs, trying to avoid touching the pretty boy in front of him.
