*Alpha Conan's POV*

Racing through the forest, my heart was banging against my chest. The sound of my laboured breathing and the surrounding wildlife was all I could hear. I slow my pace as I spot the border ahead of me. I hadn't bothered shifting into my wolf, I knew it would been seen as a threat if I showed up like that. When I was a few feet from the pack line I slowed again, calmly walking to the line. My eyes scanned my surroundings before I stepped over the border line. As I made my way deeper into Blood Moon territory I quickly became aware of the warrior shadowing me. Alpha John must have sent someone to tail me, make sure I wasn't going to try anything. A small growl rumbled through my chest, foolish old man. I have been trying to make him realize I wanted nothing more than to be allies. I honestly don't need the help, my pack is perfectly capable of handling any threat with ease but I had other motives for this alliance. I wanted to be sure that this pack, my mates pack was protected. Even if I wanted nothing to do with her personally, my wolf wouldn't let her go unprotected. So here I am, making this damn trip again to try and convince him of this deal. I really should have come in the morning but after tonight's events my wolf wouldn't allow me peace until I seen Alpha John.

I groaned mentally as my wolf began to claw at me. The scent of vanilla and cinnamon wafting towards me in the breeze. I stop dead in my tracks as I fought to control my wolf. He desperately wanted out to search for his mate. Gritting my teeth I closed my eyes as my hands curled into tight fists. My body began to shake violently as I battle against myself.

'Fucking stop!' I roared at my wolf. A small whimper came from him before he snarled at me.

'Go to mate! We need Mate! I want mate.' I mentally rolled my eyes, he sounded like a spoiled child right now.

'No! Get it through your thick skull. We don't want or need this "mate". That is solely on you, you know I want nothing to do with her. We have had this talk many times, you know the reasons.' He snarls again but does not argue against me before retreating to the back of my mind silently.

Once my body is fully relaxed again, I open my eyes and continue on my way towards the meeting hall. After a few minutes the shape of a building comes into view, by now there are five wolves following me, all staying hidden in the shadows. A small smirk comes to my lips as I open my senses, feeling out their rank and getting a sense of their abilities. Surprisingly they are all pretty high rank, for warriors. My eyes spot another wolf join, and I shake my head slightly, now this is getting out of hand. Their Beta just joined them, isn't this a little overkill? I have never once raised a hand against this pack, but I guess they didn't want to take any chances with the "Soulless Alpha who is bloodthirsty." Yes I've heard the rumors and honestly most of them were true. I did torture and murder quite often, but it was always for a reason. I have no problem with ending another's life, especially if they come for me or my pack. I didn't go around killing for the fun of it like some rumors say, but I've never backed down from a fight. Nor did I let the challenger live, that was a sign of weakness and I will never be weak.

As I grew closer to the meeting hall I could make out Alpha John standing next to the door. He did not look happy, I honestly can't blame him. I'm sure he was getting sick of this impromptu visits of mine, hell even I was sick of them. He stood with his arms crossed over his chest, eyes hard as he scowled at me. The man may be twice my age with twice the experience under his belt but the dominance rolling off him made me chuckle under my breath. You got nothing on me old man, I shook my head slightly as I heard a low growl come from the older Alpha.

"John." I spoke once I was a few feet away.

"Alpha Conan, what business do you have here at this hour?!" he roared, stepping towards me. I narrowed my eyes at him, my wolf sugaring forward at the first sign of a challenge.
