chapter twenty nine | someone valuable

Watching the doors slam as Kol left the dining room, Hope raised a brow at her father as he kicked the chair angrily, leaning against the dining table with a sigh, "Oh will you give it a rest?"

Klaus stared back at his daughter in surprise, "And what do you mean by that, Hope?"

"All Kol wanted was to have the love of his life back, can you honestly blame him for making stupid decisions?  God, if someone gave me the chance to make Isaac better, i'd do damn well anything." Hope pointed out, sarcastically putting the chair back in its place.

Hope crossed her arms, "Whats wrong?"

"Why do you assume somethings wrong?"  Klaus rolled his eyes at his daughters judgemental stare.

"You're overly angry." Hope pointed out, "So you're either worried or Kol truly did put you in a bad mood."

"I'm a parent, it's my job to be worried." Klaus reminded her, smiling sarcastically causing Hope to laugh  "Especially when you're my daughter."

The threat of the hollow had only continued to grow, whilst he only knew of some of the things Hope's pack got up too, that too was a case for concern.

"Nothing will go wrong." Pushing off from the table, Hope walked towards her father,  "We're Mikaelson's, we always win the battle."

Klaus took a breath, shaking his head, "We can't be so sure, Hope."

"Lets just leave the optimism to me," Hope grinned knowingly, hugging her father despite his scowl of protest,  "We're gonna kick the hollows sorry ass and get on with our lives. Right?"

Hope started up at him expectantly, Klaus chuckled, reluctantly answering, "Right."

Placing the patient notes back into the folder, Hope turned around in confusion at Melissa running down the hallway, blood staining her scrubs "Hope!"

Hope rushed over to the nurse, "Whats going on?"

"There was a pileup on the highway, we're low on staff and there's too many patients rolling in." Melissa explained through breaths, motioning for Hope to follow her "We need all hands on deck."

"I'm not qualified." Hope frowned, jogging over to the elevator, Melissa tapping the button for the ground floor.

Melissa shrugged, "You have been doing work experience for almost three years, you know what you're doing... and we kinda have no other options."

Hope nodded slowly, "What about Casey? Anna too, they should be back from their break. Doctor Dunbar's shift starts in an hour."

"Blocked out by the accident." Melissa explained nervously,  the two of them rushing down the hallway as the doors opened, two paramedics wheeling in a girl no older than ten.
