Elysia

Tara was starting to annoy Elysia.

Since she came back from that lunch Tara had tried to hide her pain, but Elysia had eyes. She saw how red and puffy her eyes were that day and Elysia knew a fake smile when she saw one.

It had been a week since Maddie was taken and right now Tara was just sat on the sofa next to her reading with a painful smile painted on her face.

"Alright that's enough. Just, stop," Elysia said suddenly. This stopped even the other girls, who were giggling, who sat on the other sofa.

Tara brought her eyes up to meet hers and for a split second she thought it was a glare.

"Why are we pretending nothing happened?" Elysia shouted.

"Right, so this is our cue to go, come on," She heard Catherine whisper while standing up then rushing into her room down the hall.

"Not helping," Tara shouted after them, "What are you talking about Elysia." Tara put her book down and Elysia thought she seemed a bit angry about it.

"Maddie!" Elysia threw her hands up i'm the air. A silence filled the room and Elysia started to calm down a bit. She sat down.

"We're not ignoring it, if we were we wouldn't talk about her all the time," Tara said so quietly Elysia almost missed what she said.

"I just...I feel like your trying to ignore the pain and that's ignoring what happened because what happened was, is painful,"Elysia said, still it daring to look at her.

"No your right, I don't want to talk about this," Tara said after a moments pause as she stood up.

"Yeah well I do,"Elysia said, "I know, about you going in her room at night."

"What are you talking about?" Tara said a little harshly.

"The walls aren't sound proof I heard you crying in her room when i went to check on you, you clutching the last drawling she did and were weeping. I couldn't walk in I don't know why but I couldn't." Elysia felt tears sting her eyes but she refused to let them fall.

"I wasn't aware you knew about that," Tara said, going red from embarrassment.

"You don't need to be embarrassed, we need to stick together with this," Elysia spoke carefully, a lump forming in her throat.

"Yeah I do. I'm supposed to be the who's being strong for everyone." Tara said turning around but not sitting yet.

"Why?" Elysia asked.

"Because if I'm not strong right now then I'll crumble and I don't know if I'll be able to piece myself back together." Tara said, " That's enough questions for today." Then the door opened for dinner.

"Let's go," She said taking in a deep breath and walking outside. The room where the other girls had hidden opened and Catherine put her head through.

"Can we come out now," She asked a little bit scared. Elysia just glared at her and she squealed while shutting the door. Elysia huffed and walked out to meet the others.

"...idea anyway," Oscar said as she walked over.

"What's this about?" Elysia asked, sitting down next to Peter.

"Go on tell her," Adam said but he was really just staring at Peter, instead of encouraging Oscar.

"We are going to do something for when Maddie gets back," Oscar spoke with a mixture of happiness and sadness in his voice.
