The next few weeks flew by quickly. Chan and Jeongin grew closer and got to know each other better. Chan had also stopped smoking, but not because he chose to. He had just forgotten about his habit as he focused all his attention onto Jeongin. Changbin seemed to like Jeongin and allowed him to sit with them at lunch everyday, along with Felix.

Friday is when time started to slow down for Chan. He was on his was to the cafeteria to meet Jeongin when he found Jeongin at the hands of Jack. Jeongin was in tears, with blood and bruises all over his body. His bag was thrown to the side and Jack and his mates were kicking him into the wall.

Chan felt as if he'd blacked out. Cause when he came to, Jack and his friends were all unconscious and covered in blood. He looked over to Jeongin who had fear in his eyes. Chan met them and saw how scared he was. 'Is he afraid...of me?' Chan thought. He suddenly felt a way of guilt, stupidity, and anger wash over him all at once. He growled at himself before grabbing his bag off the floor and finding himself in his old hangout spot.

He leaned against the wall and lit a cigarette. His senses soon adjusted to the familiar essence of smoke as he let out a grey cloud of breath. He slumped down the wall and onto the ground. It was still pretty cold out, but Chan didn't care. In Fact, he took his leather jacket off and tossed it next to him. He wanted to feel the refreshing sting of wind against his skin. To remind him he was human, and not a ruthless monster.

It had been so long since Chan had fought someone with no mercy. He was just so overwhelmed when he saw Jeongin like that. Chan felt something dripping down his cheeks. He assumed it was blood so he wiped it away. But when he saw clear liquid on his hand, he realised he was crying.

And it wasn't a sad cry. It was a cry of pure numbness and frustration. And Chan knew he was just feeling sorry for himself, but what else was there to do? So Chan sat there for the rest of the day, slowly killing himself puff by puff.

Jeongin ran around the school looking for Chan. He hadn't even go to the nurse or washed his face yet. He just needed to find Chan. Jeongin ran into Changbin and Felix at Felix's locker. "Guys," Jeongin took a moment to catch his breath from running around. "Where's Chan?"

"Probably somewhere disappointing jesus." Felix joked  as he closed his locker. Changbin punched his arm lightly before shrugging. Jeongin sighed and hung his head low. Felix and Changbin exchanged looks. "What happened?" Felix asked. "These guys were...giving me a hard t-time and Chan, h-he..." Jeongin wanted to explain the full truth, but he didn't want to unload his problems onto them. "He handled it." Jeongin finally claimed. "And then he ran off, and he looked pretty angry."

Changbin sighed. "Go check the side of the school. The side next to the woods. That's where i'd look anyway." Changbin recalled. "Really? Thanks!" Jeongin beamed. He was about to break into full sprint before Changbin grabbed his shoulder.

"Chan isn't a bad person." Changbin said with a serious tone.

"I know." Jeongin sighed before running off.
