The final bell rang and student's scurried out of their seats as fast as they could. Chan was the first one out the door. He planned to meet Jeongin outside of his class and walk him home. Jeongin had anxiety about getting jumped again. He explained to Chan during lunch that he had been severely bullied at his past school, which resulted in him moving. Chan figured it was because of his childish behavior a dressing style. Although Chan adored both.
Chan ran down the hall and students cleared the way for him. He bowed to everyone as he ran to show his gratitude. Once he made it to Jeongin's class he slowed his pace to a walk. "Channie Hyung!" Jeongin yelled childishly. "Ready to go?" Chan asked with a smile. Jeongin nodded and grabbed onto Chan's bag. "I won't let go," Jeongin insisted. Chan smirked and started walking with Jeongin in tow.
Once they reached the main doors many of the students had already left. The air was colder than it was earlier due to the rain that had poured earlier that day. Jeongin shivered. The wind was strong. Chan turned around, half expecting Jeongin to fly away. "Cold?" Chan asked him. "N-N-No!" Jeongin replied. Chan sighed, his breath visibly clouded around his face.
"It's cause I'm so thin." Jeongin finally admitted. Chan shrugged his leather jacket off. It had patches and pins littered about it with a few scuffs here and there. Chan had gotten this jacket as a birthday present before his freshman year and had worn it ever since. It was still abit large and baggy, but Chan liked to think it was so he could wear it for a while and grow into it eventually.
Chan draped the jacket around Jeongin and zipped it halfway. Jeongin blushed and began to shake his head. "N-no Chan! You'll get cold now." He stuttered. Chan laughed and put his hands onto Jeongin's shoulders. Jeongin snuggled further into the warmth of the jacket.
"You can wear it until you get home. I'd feel nothing but guilt knowing you were cold and I was warm. It should always be the other way around." Chan stated. Jeongin's face suddenly lit up and he put his head down.
"B-but I'm not cold," Jeongin whispered.
"Sure you aren't."
They arrived at Jeongin's front porch and began to part ways. Jeongin actually lived on the same street as Chan, so it wasn't going to be a far walk for him. "C-Channie?" Jeongin spoke as he handed Chan's jacket back shyly. "Yes, Innie?" Chan asked. "Thank you for looking after me," Jeongin said with a blinding smile.
Chan blinked before looking down at his shoes. He laughed at himself for being so soft. I looked up again and met Jeongin's adorable eyes. "No problem," Chan replied. He reached down and ruffled Jeongin's hair.
Jeongin smiled and leaned into his touch. "I'll see you later Jeongin," Chan said with a wave. "Bye!" Jeongin called as he walked into his house and shut the front door. Chan watched the lights turn on in an upstairs bedroom before beginning his walk home. Chan began to miss Jeongin's presence on the way home. He also made the decision to protect Jeongin for as long as he could.
