He let out a small "eep!" in surprise as a very familiar cactus poked her head in the library where the two teens were talking.
Sarah bit her lip to refrain from laughing as she welcomed her inside. "Ah, Cactus Girl! Didn't think you would be here.. Come on in!"
Her eyes couldn't help darting over to Steve, whose face was on fire.
"Y-Yeah, c-c-come in!" His voice cracked like a bat to a mirror.
Cactus Girl smiled a little and started walking inside.
Meanwhile, Sarah slowly strayed away from Steve and headed towards the door where the cactus once stood.
She smiled a sickenly sweet smile and waved her hand slightly. "I'll leave you two to talk!"
And with a nervous glance from Steve, she shut the door and started to walk off.
She was almost immediately interrupted by a flying dog rushing over to her from behind, her energy (and her star-shaped wand) radiant as ever.
"What's up, Sarah?" Angel Dog asked, presenting a million-dollar smile to the smirking human beside her.
Sarah's eyes darted around the room, making sure nobody else was listening. She felt like a little girl, spreading all of this news around!
But she could trust Angel Dog, so she decided to tell her anyway.
Her voice dropped and she cupped her hands. "Okay, don't tell, but I think Steve's gonna confess to Cactus Girl!"
Angel Dog's mouth went agape. "Really?!"
"Shh!" Sarah replied, making sure the inhabitants of the library couldn't hear the gossiping girls.
Angel Dog giggled like a schoolgirl. "I don't know about you, but I'm listening in!~"
She quickly flew over to the library door and opened it an inch.
Curiosity got the better of Sarah- she had to join her!
The two girls kneeled down (well, not Angel Dog, she was hovering over Sarah so they both could see) and looked in on the two teens sitting on the couch, the boy looking flustered as ever and the girl looking surprisingly calm.
Cactus Girl's eyebrow raised in curiosity. "So, Steve, you said you had something to say to me?"
"Y-y-yeah..," he stuttered, hugging himself.
Angel Dog suppressed a laugh. "Wow, he's actually doing it!"
"Be quiet!" Sarah pointed upwards to Angel, but the statement was in more of a joking way then a rude one.
"Um.. For a while now, I.. I've.."
