with you, everything felt surreal.
you made me feel a new sense of happiness, as if i was walking on clouds.
you intoxicated me in your beauty,
how soft your lips felt against my cheek
and how the hazel tint in your eyes shined vibrantly.
i wanted to ensure our joy,
making it my sole purpose to make you feel happy.
i wanted to give you everything because to me,
you deserved it all.
but life works in dangerous ways.
and in just a split second,
my everlasting trance of a dream-like euphoria was shattered.
the women who i devoted everything to,
the one who i took pride in calling mine,
you took it away.
i felt like nothing,
my heart draining from its natural energy.
i felt lifeless with every waking moment.
i wore a deceiving mask
to hide the torture i was enduring.
i destroyed everything in my life —
my friends, my family,
and even myself.
my sleepless nights and tear-stained cheeks were all because of you.
but i believed in you.
i had some faith left in my heart
to believe that you would come back,
and you did.
seeing you there, under the awning,
made my heart race ten times faster.
a part of me wanting you back in my embrace
while another part of me said that there was no use,
you were already gone.
and in that moment,
i finally realize the truth.
you never wanted me back,
you wanted the idea of me.
you wanted the idea of someone to hold,
someone to make your pains go away
until you found another pawn.
but i refused to fall back for the same trap again,
and left you in an abrupt state of regret.
for once, i felt relieved.
as if a boulder was released from my shoulders.
i finally had room to breathe,
the air never tasting any better.
i took down your pictures from my wall,
grimacing at your true reasons
and finally being able to feel bliss once again.
