Alex grew up in Manila, and he was the only child in the family. He was a smart kid in school and he graduated with a degree in college. He showed interest in professional wrestling when he saw his first WWE match on TV between Randy Orton and John Cena at SummerSlam 2007. His parents were completely supportive of their son, and Alex went to pursue his dream of being a professional wrestler.
He went to the US and started training intensively. One day while working out at a gym, he bumped into the Viper, Randy Orton. Orton saw the young Auditore's potential, and he took him in as his personal protege. After years of intense training with the Viper, Alex seek his first big break at NJPW where he made a name for himself by joining the foreign faction known as Bullet Club and trained with their leader, the Cleaner Kenny Omega.
