Sometimes silence is the best sound for all humans, emitting a calm or peaceful vibe in the location. The silence has a sort of golden aura, and it releases an energy that is indescribable, except to only some people. It clears the mind and thoughts, helping release anger, and help calm nerves.
Nonetheless, Jennie's room was filled with complete silence, only a faint beeping sound capturing her attention.
She twisted, her body trying to find shelter from the annoying sound that was now causing her ears to throb as it got louder by the second.
Jennie twisted again, clutching onto her pillow and blanket as the sound became so loud, it was deafening. The sleepy girl groaned, reaching out for her phone that contained the irritating sound. She blinked several times, looking at the time displayed on the screen while turning off her alarm tiredly.
9:45.
From that moment, all of the irritation she felt was soon replaced with a rushed feeling. Jennie jumped out of her bed, quickly calling her cook to concoct something for her to consume as breakfast.
The brown eyed girl instantly bolted to her closet, where she pulled out her work clothes she prepared the night before. After, she darted to the bathroom, where she brushed her teeth and washed her face, before swiftly applying her makeup. She grabbed her phone and work bag from the nightstand, groaning when she saw the time again. Everything was going downhill, (the part that she was late for a very important meeting wasn't helping), as Jennie dashed down the stairs, grabbing her strong coffee and her plate of eggs and bacon, before leaving her home immediately.
"Mina, take me to work, PRONTO!" She commanded her driver, getting an approved nod before she started to wolf down her food. It wasn't long before she reached her place of work, making her way pass the glass doors held out for her. Walking inside the building, she heard the sounds of her employees talking on the phone, and some conversing amoung themselves.
Jennie's heels clicked on the glass floor as she made her way to the elevator. Everyone turned up, greeting their boss with all the respect they could muster. Why? Well, they didn't want to get fired, because surely that would bring shame among the victim.
"Miss Kim!" A voice called, causing her to turn around and identify it.
"Yes?" She answered with a roll of her eyes, stopping in her tracks and turning around, looking at the person with boredom in her eyes. She had a meeting that was very important for the company and this was stopping her from getting there.
"I have the papers that you wanted, ma'am. The files for the new technology, am I correct?" The person asked, passing the CEO a stack of papers in a lightly colored file folder.
"Yes, thank you. Is there anything else I can assist you with?" She asked, grabbing the file folder and looking at the employee expectantly.
Time is ticking.
"Yes ma'am, I recieved an email that you got a new personal assistant, and they start working today. Also, you have a meeting scheduled with Dahyun about the promoting of the new technology release in November. She can only make it next Thursday, so I've scheduled that for you." They said, looking up at her with a smile.
"Okay, send all of that information to my secretary, please." She said, rolling her eyes even harder when the person looked at her confused.
"My secretary, Kim Jisoo? How do you not know this?" Jennie asked, frowning when the person ran away, scared when they saw the expression on the her face.
"Amateur." She mumbled, before making her way to the elevator, waiting for it to close.
"Please hurry up, please," she begged mentally, watching how the front doors flew open and a tall, attractive woman with orange hair came scurrying inside.
She locked eyes with Jennie, her steps becoming clear that she was going to the elevator, making Jennie gulp immediately.
She needed to be selfish at the moment.
Jennie knew if she waited for the woman, she would be even more late, and that was something she didn't plan to do.
The brown eyes girl let her eyes examine all of the buttons in the elevator, before letting her eyes adjust itself on one precise button.
The door close one.
Looking at the tall woman that was getting closer to her and back at the button, Jennie mashed the knob repeatedly, watching how the woman's facial expression changed to an angrier one and her footsteps sounding louder to Jennie.
"Please, please, please, please!" The CEO begged, watching how the doors began to close ever so slowly and watching the tall woman become an object getting closer to her.
The doors were almost closed completely, before the woman made it inside, causing Jennie to feel defeated.
"So, you wanna play that way, huh?" The unknown woman asked, once the doors closed completely. "Lets see what you'll fucking do now." She said with a smirk, before eying all of the small, grey tabs and pressing them all, starting from the bottom to the top.
Every.
Single.
Stop.
Was.
Pressed.
Jennie felt the color getting drained from her face and she felt herself getting livid, her eyes placed on the woman with orange hair.
"You do realize that there are 300 floors in this building, right?!" Jennie fumed, she felt heat blast from her ears and her fingers balling into fists, watching as the woman shrugged and leaned back against the elevator railing.
"Yup, I learned what 300 looked like in elementary school." She answered truthfully, keeping her attention on her nails as Jennie glared at her angrily.
"I have to get to the 278th floor like right now and you're so fucking calm about this?!" Jennie asked, her fist clenching tighter around her work bag.
"Eh, you started it." The oranged haired woman replied with a smirk, causing Jennie to growl lowly before watching as the elevator stopped on the first destination, the 2nd floor.
