Aubrey

"You're free to go."

I jumped on my feet, rubbing my palms to my thighs... I'm free to what? The police guy came in and took off the cuffs from my wrist.

Wait, am I dreaming? Are they actually letting me go?

I walked out of the cell slowly.

Its been almost two weeks since I called Drex, was he responsible for my release? If he was, how did he manage?

"This way." The police officer motioned for me to follow him, and I did.

I saw Drexel, sitting on a waiting chair. I guess it was him after all, but how did he do it? How did he manage to get me out of here.

"Drex?" I called his attention.

He looked up immediately, with a sigh of relief, he stood up and hugged me, I hugged him back and whispered. "How?"

He smiled when we broke the hug. "I might not be in the Mafia, but I know people in high places." He smirked.

I scrunched my brows in confusion, but few seconds later, the expression on my face, turned from confused to shock.

My eyes widened when I took sight of the man coming out of the sheriff's office.

I looked back at Drexel, my mouth suddenly dry. "H-how did y-you manage to get the Vino da Vinci here?" I stuttered.

I was standing face to face with the vino da Vinci, the man in the front cover of every vino magazine, the man who's name was given to a great city.

I was looking at the president of vino da Vinci town, the uppermost chairman and leader of vino da Vinci...

Drexel grinned.

Mr Vino only smiled at me and patted Drexel's shoulder.

"Drexel here is an amazing man, I owe him a lot, this was nothing compared to the favor he granted me. He's a humble and great guy... And he's told me so much about you."

I gave a quick side glance at Drexel and I looked back at Mr Vino... "Thank you so much for coming to my rescue." I thanked him.

"Oh, you don't have to. I have an important meeting to attend, it was nice meeting you, Miss Chandler... Stay safe." Mr Vino gave a wide wrinkled smile.

"Yeah, sure." I said.

Mr Vino left.

"Come on, we gotta get out of here, I don't like this place." Drexel said, making his way out of the station.

I followed closely behind.

"Spill!" I yelled at Drexel as I made my way to his kitchen, grabbing a cold drink from his Fridge.

Drexel laughed.

"What? You still can't believe that someone like me would be hanging around with Vino?" He asked.

I raised my left brow. "Yeah, obviously! I mean, it's not," I drank the juice and swallowed, then I continued talking. "Just any Vino... It's The Vino."

Drexel laughed. "I have my ways, that's how I survive, that's how I don't get into trouble... Everywhere I go, I help people who favor people that help them... and they end up owing me... Just like you owe me for freeing you."

"OK, what kind of favor would Vino da Vinci want from you?" I asked.

"I kind of saved his daughter from drowning at vino beach, remember I went there for an interview?"
