School was over and I was on my way to get Hazel from daycare. Anna was following behind me cause she had to pick up Trevor today for her parents. I pulled into the parking lot and found a spot. Anna parked next to me and we both hopped out of our trucks. We walked in and were greeted by Jess like normal. She called for Hazel and Trevor and both the kids started walking out of the rooms they were in.
"Hi Anna." Hazel said
"Hey Hazel." Anna said
"Sissy!" Trevor yelled running into Anna and clutching her leg
"Gama's?" Hazel said
"Grandmas." I said picking up Hazel
Anna picked up Trevor and we signed The kids out. We said our goodbyes to Jess and headed for the vehicles.
"So where you two headed for?" Anna asked putting Trevor in his seat.
"Nana's." I said
I call her Nana or Grandma but Hazel calls her Gama. That's all she could say when she was about 2.
"She makes the best cookies! Bring me back some?" Anna asked
"I'll try but I'm pretty sure Hazel Will eat them all." I said laughing
"And bye Hazel you mean you?"
"Psh! No!" I said
"Okay whatever. Bye Madds." Anna said getting in her car and driving off
I shut The back door and got in myself. I buckled up and started the engine. The first song that came on the radio was Your Man By Josh Turner.
"I remember when Scotty sang this for his American Idol Audition. I love hearing him sing it." I thought to myself.
To snap me out of my thoughts my phone rang. I looked at the caller ID and saw that it was Scotty. I answered and put it on speaker so I could drive.
"Hey." His deep voice said
"Hey Scotty boy." I said keeping my eyes on the road
"What's up?" I asked
"Nothing, just wanted to see if you wanted to play some baseball down at the field with me and some of the guys."
"Can't. Me and Hazel are going to my Nana's."
"The one that makes good cookies?" He asked getting excited
"Yep!" I said
"We're gunna be there in 10 bye!" He said then the line went dead
I pulled into the driveway of the big 2 story house. I took my keys out of the ignition, unbuckled and hopped out. I went to the back door and unbuckled Hazel. The boys showed up right when I got her out of her car seat. She was standing on the floor board of the truck and waved at the guys. Scotty ran up to her and picked her up.
"Hi Scotty." She said smiling
"Hiya Hazel." He said spinning her around
Hazel just giggled and rested her head on Scotty's shoulder.
"Alright give me my sister back." I said trying to get her from Scotty
"No! Mine!" He said trying to bite my hand
"Fine you carry her." I said walking towards the front door.
I knocked on the door a few times then it opened.
"Nana." I said hugging her
"Maddison. Wow you've grown so much!" She said "Where's Hazel?"
"Scotty has her." I pointed behind me.
