• SCOTTY'S POV •
Dustin and I were in the kitchen making popcorn for all of us. Dustin had already made one bag and just put another in the microwave. He turned around after starting it and looked at me funny.
"What?" I asked
"What's gonna happen?" He asked
"What do you mean?" I looked at him puzzled
"Maddison and Hazel? What's gonna happen when you go on tour and their still here?" He opened up the microwave and took the bag out.
"That can go with me." I said grabbing the bowl and handing it to him.
"Okay, but honestly don't you think people would start saying things? Like oh I don't know, maybe possibly you and Maddison are dating." He said walking towards the living room.
"Well then I'll just make up an excuse or something. Brotha I got this covered." I said
"Let's see how well that works. I mean there's always the option of them staying with me." He said setting the bowl on the coffee table
"You really think I can stand not being away from them for months when they've been living with me for almost two months?" I said grabbing a handful of popcorn
"You did when you auditioned for idol." He said
"Well that sucked. I hated not being home."
"What are ya'll talkin bout?" Maddison asked looking at us.
"Nothing." Dustin and I said in unison
• MADDISON'S POV •
"Okay then." I said looking at the crazy boys sitting in both recliners
"Seriously, it was nothing." Scotty said
"Yeah." Dustin said "Nothing."
"Okay I think you two have lost your minds." I said handing the popcorn bowl to Anna and Trevor
"No we haven't!" Dustin said making a pouty face
"Yes you have." I said laughing at them and readjusting Hazel on my lap
"Okay can we just watch the movie?" Scotty asked annoyed
"Yes." Hazel said looking at the tv
Scotty played the movie and we all say in silence. The only noise you could hear was the munching of popcorn in someone's mouth and the occasional car engines passing by outside. Everyone's eyes were focused on the tv.
About halfway through the movie I looked down at Hazel who was fast asleep laying in my lap, curled up in a little ball. I looked over on the couch behind me and saw Anna and Trevor all cuddled up laying next to each other fast asleep. Then over on the recliners was a sleeping Scotty and Dustin. As quietly as I could I picked Hazel up and put her down by Scotty night trying to wake her up. I pulled the blankets over both of them then walked into the kitchen. I turned the light on and went to the fridge. I opened it up and grabbed the sweet tea jug. I got a cup out of the cupboard and poured a glass. I put the jug back in the fridge and walked over to my glass.
"Hey." I heard a raspy voice say.
I looked over at the doorway and saw Scotty leaning against it.
"Drinking my sweet tea now are you?" He asked walking towards the fridge.
"Maybe." I said smirking then took a sip.
He walked over to the cupboard and grabbed a cup to pour himself a glass. He looked at me then took a sip.
"What?" I asked
"Nothing." He laughed
"Sure." I rolled my eyes and started walking towards the living room when he grabbed my wrist.
"Scotty, are you okay?" I asked
"No, I'm not okay." He said looking serious
"Okay..?"
"Maddison, I like you." He said, his blue eyes piercing through mine.
"I-I-" I started
"I know you probably don't like me back but I had to tell you. I couldn't keep lying to myself." He said
"Scotty, I-"
