She went to the zoo a few years ago.
Very young back then, getting easily fascinated by the animals and their unique behaviors. The penguins and see lions were her favorite.
She went on vacation a few months ago.
Driving along the beautiful pacific road 01 and stopping from time to time to watch the animals she loved as a kid swimming around peacefully in the ocean.
She went shopping in a mall a few days ago.
Bought lots of nice clothes, carried huge tons of bags with her the whole day and stopped at a little café nearby to treat herself with some nice iced caramel frappé.
She went to put on the TV a few hours ago.
And how it seemed, destiny wanted to send her a message. To open her eyes.
On TV, there was a documentary about the endangered life of animals in the ocean because of plastic.
She saw pictures that she never wanted to see but sure would never forget about. The cruelty of her once so beloved animals suffocating, dying in a torturing way because of too much plastic in their natural habitat.
She felt the goosebumps starting to form on her arm.She felt sick.
She went to get her phone from the kitchen table a few minutes ago.
Felt even more sick when she saw all the unpacked shopping bags in the corner from her trip a few days ago, most of them plastic.
She googled. Did a lot of research. And got shocked by what she found out.She wiped off the tears on her face a few seconds ago.
Decided that crying wouldn't make a difference. Would not save those poor, innocent and beautiful animals their lives.
So she decided not to just sit there and watch - but to actually make a difference. She cleaned up the whole house, put away all the plastic she could find and swore to herself to never use any sort of anything like that ever again - may it be those cute little straws for the perfect cocktail, or that really nice shopping back from her favorite designer shop. Because there were so much more important things in life like that...
For example raising awareness.
So she talked. And talked. And talked. To so many people. Told them about the bad effects of plastic use - showed them some terrible pictures. And put them in exactly the same position she was not long ago - shocked, but finally woken up.
Deciding to actually make a change for the beautiful world we live in.
She is going to make a difference.
