The sun shown though the trees outside. It peeked passed the cracks in between the leaves and flowed though my window. The glorious light moved though my room and found its way right to my eyes. This bright uncomfortable feeling broke me out of my sleep into the morning that I always dread, Monday. That meant my day of freedom was over and my week of countless boring lessons would begin. Sometimes I wish I cou-
*knock knock*
What was that? I try to wake myself up as I scramble out of bed. My feet hit the cold floor as I hurriedly tiptoe to get a cover.
*knock knock* "Princess? Princess, it's time for your needlepoint lesson! Are you up for the servants to assist you?"
Thank goodness it's just Thea, "Uhh...um yes! Yes Thea I'm up. Just give me a minute."
I change into a simple dress and put on a pair of blue slippers and open the door.
"Good morning, your highness. Did you have a good nights rest?"
"Oh yes, thank you. Did you ha-"
"PRINCESS! Your bed is an absolute mess! A lady of your stature should always be neat and tidy!" She rushes over with two other servants and starts to fix my bed.
Thea is my Maid of Honor. That means she attends me in everything I do and grooms me to eventually become queen. My mother would usually be the one to do that, but ever since my kingdom went to war with Daedus, she's been helping my father try to end it.
Thea brings me over to the mirror and has a servant comb my long brown hair.
I turn to her, "Thea, do you think, umm well... Do you think my parents will let me go outside?" I asked hesitantly.
"Why on earth would you want to go outside?"
"Because I've never been! Don't you think after 17 years they would let there only daughter at least go out side to breath in the fresh air or smell the flowers?"
The servant puts my hair in braid going down my back.
"Honestly, Aveline. There's nothing special about the mucky outdoors,"
I lower my head.
"The way I see it, your parents will not let go out there, they are more focused on getting you ready to rule. You should just forget about it."
I sigh. "Okay.."
"Well, your needlepoint lesson is starting pretty soon! Be ready!"
Thea walks out taking the servants with her.
Along with the rest of my dreams.
