Rowan's lesson left my thoughts. I hold my face with my hand as I look out the window.
I notice the slight breeze as it moves the vines growing outside the panes. I see the sunlight glisten dew drops laying in leaves. I've always love looking outside. Just the thought of another world beyond my own always excited me. To be away from all the responsibilities of being a princess just makes me feel... Free.
I've heard so many stories of the outside world. I've been told about creatures called rabbits that are very small but their fur is as soft as a cloud, or I heard about birds that have feathers that match the color of the sky and their songs compare to that of fine music. Marian has told me stories of bugs called fireflies that only come out at night and look just like the stars.
That would be so wonderful to see.
But... I my parents would never let me. They have kept me inside in fear I would get hurt or I would want to run away from being a princess and rebel against the nobility. They didn't want me to be influenced by the people outside, so they kept me in.
And I'm going to turn 18 pretty soon, that means my parents will start looking for suitors for me to marry. Once I'm married I'll be stuck in the castle sewing quilts and taking care of the future heirs to the throne.
That means I can't see the things I've wanted to see my whole life.
At least daydreaming is better than this Genealogy lesson.
