"Are you sure you can't come?" I whine.

"Yes, I'm sure. I have to work in kitchen all day," Marian gathers her things and starts to head out the door.

"You will be fine, but just make sure not to go too far out of the village or you will get lost. And make sure you don't buy anything from the traders, all their stuff is overpriced,"

She brings me into a hug, "You are actually doing it, this is amazing! Aren't you excited?" She laughs.

"Very." I'm grinning uncontrollably. This whole thing is so surreal. I'm finally going to walk in the sunlight and see the kingdom I've lived in my whole life.

"Well I better get going. Bye!" She pulls me into one last hug.

"Bye!" She closes the door.

I examine myself in the mirror. I'm wear a brown and white dress that ends at my ankles with blue ribbon for the corset to match my eyes. I'm wearing brown flats and I'm carrying a small purse to hold money.

I chose the most simple thing I had so people will not recognize me as a princess. That and I didn't want my dark blue gown to get dirty.

What would I do first? I'd probably look over at the shops at the village and see what they actually sell. Then I'll walk over to the pond outside the town and look what's over there. That's one of the many things I've wanted to see whenever I went out.

I look in the mirror one more time and look at myself. I smile really big and rush out the door.

I sprint down the hall and almost knock over a maid holding blankets. I run down the stairs and though a walkway and stop myself just as I was about to crash into a guard standing by the entrance. My mother and father are waiting beside them.

My mom starts to speak, "Oh Aveline! You're growing up too fast!" She pulls me in an embrace and I can almost hear her start to cry.

She steps back while wiping away tears, "I'm alright, I'm just getting a little emotional that's all."

My father turns to me, "I'm so proud of you for speaking up for what you want. That shows the qualities of a ruler, and I know one day you will make a great one." He gives me a smile.

"Guards!" He proclaims, "you know what to do,"

The guards stand in formation and wait on me for the final command.

"Just remember to be back before noon for lunch and the rest of your classes."

"Thank you so much, I love you." I give my parents one last goodbye.

"Open the doors!"

I see that beautiful light peaking though. The rush of fresh air fills my lungs and I take my first few steps out in the courtyard. There are many flowers that overwhelm me with their pleasant perfumes and the bushes are cut to perfection. I see the tiny ponds with sleek fish that glide though the water, and I hear the soft music of the waves and the breeze above. Leaves of the cherry blossom tree flow in the wind and land perfectly in the grass under me. The courtyard was breathtaking, but the guards kept moving and my anticipation grew as I knew I would be able to meet people I've never met before in the village. We get closer and closer to the doors that led out there. One of them puts his hand on the door knob and.....

"Hey! You can't buy that!"

"What do you mean it's 100 coins?!"

"Get out of my way!"

"Let's buy something over in the jewelry stand!"

"Get you mystical spices here! Spices! Spices! Spices!"
