"I can't believe we're actually here!" Ali squeals as she pulls me into a hug. everyone is currently talking amongst themselves as me and Als talk to each other, catching up on everything
"so wheres Owen?" I ask slightly confused. I mean he was her fiancé, plus he was like a brother to me. I've known him since I was younger than Jack, he's already part of the family "he's had to stay at work. I was gonna keep it a surprise, but he's gonna be here the day after tomorrow"
hearing that made my heart skip a little. he was actually the closest thing I had to a dad.
I look around and see Jack talking to Gray. so casually, so cooly, so... normal...
I stand with my mouth slightly agape and so does Ali. even though Jack is quite a confident person, he isn't the best with new people. especially older guys.
I walk over to them both and clear my throat "what you guys talking about?" I wrap my arm around Jack's shoulder. yes, he's taller than me, but he's still my lil brother...
"Nothing really" Jack shrugs, obviously trying to play It cool. I look up to Grayson and see him smiling at us both. "yeah sure, nothing" okay, they're hiding something
"Jack Thomas Davis, you know I hate surprises" I whine, stepping away slightly and letting my head drop back. "just cause it's your birthday, doesn't mean you get to full name me" he folds his arms and walks away into the kitchen.
"he's a good kid" Gray smiles, looking towards Jack who's rummaging in the fridge. "he's the best" I reply, meaning every word. I tilt my head looking at him, being so thankful that he's here.
"you know you two look so alike?" I snap my head towards him, being genuinely confused...no one has ever said that before. I look nothing like either of my siblings "funny Gray" I knock his arm with mine and smile, looking down at my shoes and knocking my feet together.
"I don't look like either of them actually" saying it out loud actually made me realise that I don't. they Both look like each other, but I just look like my parents...unfortunately.
"I look like the fucking twins tho..." I mumble under my breath, needing to say it, but hoping Gray wouldn't question it "okay, I know what you're thinking, but we're not talking about this today. tell me when you need to talk okay?"
how does he always know what to say?
"Hey," he says holding my chin, making me look up to him. I immediately feel my cheeks turn a light shade of pink. he moves closer to the side of my head and whispers in my ear "I love you"
my head snaps up and I look him directly in the eyes. his words sent shivers down my spine and a warm feeling to engulf my body. I knew I wanted to say it back, I've known for a while now. It was just a shock to hear it come from his mouth first
"I-i love you too Gray" I see his eyes sparkle with happiness and he pulls me close again and wraps me in a warm, loving hug. "happy birthday Ro" he bit his bottom lip trying to hold back a smile from appearing on his mouth, but I could see it a mile away.
"thank you Gray, and thank you for the best presents I could possibly ask for". everything he has done for me today and even just coming out here... I mean, its more effort than anyone else has ever made for me...
"Happy birthday Rosieeee!" Ethan comes up behind me and hugs around my shoulders making all three of us laugh a little. I'd been so distracted talking to Ali and Jack that I completely forgot about Ethan and the rest
"thank you" I smile, turning around and giving him a proper hug. "aww, I've missed you". I can feel him smiling against my head. I pull away and give him a kiss on the cheek. He's such a cute friend.
I turn back to Gray as Ethan walks away. he pulls into a tight hug and I look up to him "you're not jealous that I gave E a kiss are you?" I giggle as I pull he head back and smirk a little knowing exactly what he was feeling "oh my god, you're so cute " I laugh as I place a soft kiss on his lips, I feel him smiling into it and just appreciate this moment...

the rest of the morning is spent laughing and enjoying everyone that I had around me. I'd never felt so much love in all my life, from everyone. I don't think there was much else planned for today, but we were going out for dinner later, somewhere smarter. I'm pretty sure it was Ella's choice.
Ali comes up behind me and taps my shoulder, clearing her throat and catching my attention "Hey, I actually have a surprise for you. from me and Jack." I furrow my eyebrows, not being sure how this day could possibly get any better, but she seems so excited "do you know what the time is actually?"
I look down to my phone, " 2:59 pm" I say, being specific as I was assuming whatever this surprise was, was happening soon.
"perfect," she says grinning ear to ear. almost as soon as she says that, there's a knock at the door. I smirk slightly, knowing that it's my surprise. whether its another person or another gift, I can't wait.
Jack walks over to the door and stands with his hand placed on the handle. he looks over to me and everyone else and smiles. "ready Rosie?" I nod rapidly and wait for his to twist the handle.
he pulls the door open and standing in front of him, someone I hadn't seen in nearly 3 years. the person I've been with since I can remember.
"Noah?!"
