Tyler had walked off towards the rest of the supervisors who were walking through the metal detector after our ... encounter. Sophie, who seemed to be the only person who noticed, ran up to me, joined me in the line and squealed in delight.

"Pleeeease tell me you're planning on banging that cause you know I'll help you hide it from everyone if you decide to." she joked. I laughed and walked through the metal detector. I notice one of the security guys eyeballing us but shake it off. I grab my belt out of the bin that I had placed it into only a few seconds ago and begin putting it on again. Thats when I hear the security guard near me mutter something the walky-talkie he wears on his left shoulder. Call me overdramatic or whatever you want, but I cant help but panick. Oh no. That was never a good sign at an airport. I scan the crowd for possible terrorists but someone grabbing my shoulder and snaps me out of my thoughts.

"Excuse me ladies, " The guard who i just saw speaking into the walkie-talkie comes up to us giving us a stern look. I freeze. Did i forget to take off my earing as i passed throught metal detector. No, then what? Realization hits me. I turned to come face two face with two large men in uniform. The rest unfolds like a scene from a movie, my thoughts substituting the voice of a narrator. They couldnt possibly think that we were the terrorists, could they? I mean we're 17 year old girls! I think to myself.

"I couldn't help but overhear part of the conversation you two were having." One of the men says to us. Ah,relief. It can't be that bad if hes just interested in our conversation. I mean, more than half of Sophie and I's relationship was based on the countless unintelligent conversations we constantly ha-. I rethink our conversation and mentally face palm myself for the second time that day on behalf of my moron best friend. Our somewhat innocent conversation must have sounded like some sort of a threat to an outside person! While im deep in thought Sophie seemsto react to the situation much quicker then me.

"Well officers, wait- is that what you're supposed to call security men? I mean you guys dont really do anything but stand around and look pretty" she asks aloud, more to herself than to anyone else. "Well not you" she points to the fatter, balding one. My jaw drops. I clasp my hand over her mouth before she could say anything else to get us into more trouble. You just can't say stuff like that to a security guard!

" I apologize on behalf of my friend, I assure you she didn't mean to undermine your authority in anyway but we're really not a threat to you o-or anyone" I somehow stutter out.

The fat one gwuaffs in response, "I'll be the judge of that" he says and looksus up and down slowly. He makes it obvious that he dosnt like us. Or maybe he just doesn't like his job. Who knows...

" You ladies don't happen to be hiding anything, do you.?" the handsomer and much younger one proceeds to ask

" Nothing more than a few secrets" I say nervously, trying to bring a little humor into the situation. My eyebrows shoot up, " Oh my god, just harmless teenage secrets" I corrected as soon as I realized that I had just said something stupid that probably made us look even more suspicious.

"Harmless" I restate once more for emphasis.

"I see" he responds. I notice a few bystanders beginging to huddle around. Each trying to take in the scene as best as they could. The two guards whisper some thing to each other before turning back to us.

"Well then, I guess you wouldn't mind telling us what you were speaking about as you stepped through our metal detectors over there" he points behind us. Wanting to speak honestly but not embarrass myself, I speak.

"I don't mean to be rude or anything but I don't see how that would concern you" I shock myself, surprised

at how calm my voice sounds when I was anything but calm.

" Well when you hear strangers speaking about hiding things and 'bangs', as a security guard its your responsibilty to get suspicious and check it out." his snarky matter-a-fact tone states. I look over toward Sophie who doubles over in laughter when she finally takes In what's happening.

"I CAN'T EVEN." she said between fits of laughter.

" Well, sir" she says mockingly once shes calmed down a bit. Oh no. I look into her eyes. Dont do it. Dont do it.

" I don't necissarily know how things were back when the dinosaurs roamed the earth but I WILL inform that things are different then they used to be. For example, you see this situation we are in right now? Yeah? Well you're basically trying to force my best friend to tell you about her sex life 'cause nowadays 'bang' is slang for other terms you may be familiar with like ... getting it on, sex, intercourse, fu-" she would've continued on had I not interrupted.

"Keep it PG!" I scolded before she could finish her word and scar a few of the children that stood around with their parents, amused at what was happening.

" Well, then again, maybe youre just not familiar with tohe action. I mean, there's really no way to tell when the last time you got some was .." she added as she looked him up and down, " we'll be going now. Nice meeting you!" she shouted the last part behind her after she grabs me and pulls me after her towards the boarding ramp.

When my mind and mouth finally decide to work again I slap Sophie.

"What was that?!"

"Whadda yah mean." she asks innocently.

"Down the isle to the right" the stewardess says to us. Inturrupting our conversation to she directs us to our seats.

"Thank you" I smile briefly at her before returning to my scolding

"I mean, you were rude, Sophie, really rude! You're never rude! And that tone!" I exclaim, still in shock of what my best friend had just done. She was never really quiet around people but she surely was never outgoing! She hated rude people! And in the whole 14 years of my life that I've known her she's never acted like that.

" C'mon 'talia, I was getting bored. Don't get all mature on me. Besides, he deserved being told off. What old fart likes to evesdrop on teenage girls conversations? A creep." she resounds and answers her own question, " Listen, we're going away and its to a country that no one knows us in, it wouldn't hurt to have a little fun, would it? To make a few good memories and just embrace being young? Sounds good, doesn't it? I know you want to agree with me. Where's the true talia that comes out when no one else is around? Drop the act, even if only for the trip" she practically begs me. I think about it. Shes right. This probably IS the last summer I have thats stress free. University is just around the corner. I might as well enjoy my freedom, I decide as I think about the endless amounts of homework and studying that the up and coming school year entails.

" You're right. Its time for me to have some fun" I tell her, grinning as I put our carry ons in the overhead compartment. I take the opportunity to scan over the people on the plane. I awkwardly catch a jock, traveling with Student Experiences aswell, looking at my yoga pant covered backside. I inwardly grimace but decide to smile at him politely, he beams back at me. Everything about him from his gelled up hair and bulging muscles screams 'jerk'. Done looking at the front part of the plane I turn to the back of the plane and this time make instant eyecontact with Tyler. After a few seconds of locked gazing I turn back and plop myself into my seat. My mind starts scheming.

" You wanted talia?" I ask Sophie. She stared at me with a confused expression on her face probably wondering why I was referring to myself in third person. " Well you're gonna get her. Listen this is what's going to happen.." I slowly explain my plan to her. She the proceeds to grin like a toddler who had just been told they could have any candy they wanted, "'oh, this is going to be good."
