He made his way back to the center of the room. Once again neither one of us was speaking. I tried to analyze his behavior, he seemed calm but his constant neck rubbing was suggesting otherwise. We had only been in the room together for thirty seconds and this was the fifth time he did it.

"My name is Daniel." he said. He stepped closer to me offering a hand shake.

Strange, he felt so comfortable and at ease enough to offer me skin contact.

I didn't shake his hand. I just sat there looking at him.

He came closer. He made his way to the foot of the bed and sat down. I sat up with my legs crosses and a pillow in my arms.

"If you keep looking at me like that your face is going to permanently stay that way." he said and then giggled.

"I'm just fucking with you doll. Can't you take a joke?"

"Not when I've been drugged and kidnapped. It's pretty hard to laugh when your scared shitless." I responded. I could tell I took him by surprise because his eyes widened and his face went serious. All of this only lasted for a second. His expression changes to show his amusement to my response.

"Alright doll, seems like a talk is long overdue. Frankly I've been waiting for you to wake up so we could have it. You've been out for days."

"How long have I been out? "

"Well when they brought you here you were already knocked out. Its been three days from my count. But you're probably starving. I'll be right back doll. Wouldn't want you passing out on me while I give you the big news."

They brought you here is all I could think of. Who's they? How have they gotten away with this and what does he have to do with this?

He came back in the room holding a bowl and a cup of water. Its smelt sweet. I knew that smell, maple brown sugar oat meal. I ate it everyday for breakfast.

"They said you likes this stuff. I can't get myself to eat it but it's supposed to be healthy. Not to heavy for your stomach that hasn't had anything in a while." he sat the bowl on the table next to the bed with the water right next to it.

"Can I get bottled water?" I said. I didn't trust the water. What if he drugged it. The oat meal were oats, even if he drugged those it wouldn't effect me.

"Yeah let me get you one." he said and left the room.

I picked up the bowl and started eating. As soon as the first spoonful made it to my stomach I began to scarf the contents of the bowl down. I didn't feel this hungry seconds ago.

By the time he got back I was already done with my oat meal.

"Whao Baby doll, that was fast." he had a smug smile. He sat back where he was before but this time he had a black folder in his hands.

Baby doll?  What's with this guy?

"Can I get the water?" I said.

He tossed it to me and I opened it slowly making sure the seal wasn't already broken.

It wasn't. It was fine. I drank it within seconds. My throat was instantly relieved of a pain that I didn't notice I was feeling.

"If I can remember correctly you should be really thirsty. I know I was."

What does it mean he was?  My surprise must have shown in my eyes because he later said.

"I was 18 and scared as hell, but I survived. Not that anything bad happened to me, I was just sure I was going to get killed or something. I have been through this before. You're here so we can protect you."

"Protect me how? From what?" I was a simple college student from Washington going to school in California. My parents were simple business owners from Washington. Who would want to hurt me?

"Well, that's why you're here. I'm here to help you understand everything you need to know. Everything you don't know." he stood up and started pacing around the room with the folder in his hand.

what's in there?

"But first you need to trust me. We need to trust each other. You need to understand that I am here for you. I need to trust you enough to know that I can keep the doors unlocked without you trying to run away. I know your too weak right now but when you get your strength back I don't want to take any chances."
