Daisy

"Daisy! Come back!" He yelled.

I couldn't recognize his voice, I had never heard it before.

I ran back behind the building and into the trees.

"Daisy, I can help you!"

I kept running, I couldn't stop. After a while his voice disappeared and all I could hear was the howl of a wolf. It kept getting closer and closer but there was no wolf to be seen.

I stopped to catch my breath, I knew I wasn't alone.

"Daze let me help you." I turned around and saw him. His very tall body with long arms caught me as I almost fell to the ground from exhaustion.

"I... How do... my name."

"I know your name is Daisy Ramirez, I can help. Let me help you. "

And just like that, like always, my dream ended as I fell into his arms passing out.

"Dude wake up we're late!!" I could bearly hear a voice yell at me.

"Daze!! Seriously! Wake up!! My mom will kill me if I'm late!" He continued.

I could hear Jack's voice but I didn't have enough energy to respond.

"Daze I swear to god if you don't get up I will personally go up to Jacob and tell him you're in love with him."

"If you do I will go up to Danny and tell him how much you want him" I wasn't sure how clear I had said that but I knew he would get the point.

"If you can insult me then you can get up. C'mon my mom is waiting, I told her we'd be there by twelve, its almost eleven and you are not even out of bed yet." I could hear the panic in his voice. Jack was seriously nervous for this wedding.

Why I ever agreed to go to this party with Jack I will never understand.

"Besides Danny would be honored to know how much I want him."

"Yet you keep letting him think you could care less." I interupted.

"Ya, your up. Now get ready or I will personally dress you and get you ready, I am not in the mood for your lazy lagging today."

"I'm almost ready so just calm down ok. Why do we have to get there so early anyways? Doesn't the wedding start 'till one?"

"Yes, but one, you are not almost ready and two, I haven't told my mom that you are my date to the wedding yet..."

"You haven't told your mom i'm going?!?!?!"

Jack just looked up at me and laughed, right before I relaxed and thought he was kidding he went on to say "No, so we have to surprise her with some lunch in order to get her in a good mood."

"Jack she doesn't like me!" My best friend's mom has never liked me. I met her in the seventh grade and made the mistake of asking her if Jack was allowed to date, not because I wanted to date him, but because he already had a girlfriend. I was wondering if she would freak if i came out and told her he did. She mistook my question for something else. Convinced that I was in love with her son who by the way turned out to be gay.

"No, she likes you more than she use to, she's just not use to you."

"UGH!!! I hate you! Why do you have to make these events so awkward?"

" I do not make them awkward, and you do not hate me, you love me or else you wouldn't put up with this."

I climb out of bed, walk over to my closet and grab the dress I bought especially for this occasion and threw it on the bed next to where Jack was sitting.

"OH MY GOD!! This dress is so pretty" He said.

I had gotten the dress the day before at the only store that I ever saw dresses worth wearing. It was a short black dress with black lace flower, sleeveless and I loved the see through lace from my shoulders to right above my breast.

"Did you get her to wake up?" My moms voice was at the doorway of my room.

"Yes! I swear it took me forever!!!"

"Good thing she got up this morning and already showered, or else you would have had to wait for that too. You look very nice Jack. " I had not noticed but Jack was wearing his, he was a groomsmen for his cousin's wedding.

"Thank you, and thank you for making sure the colors match or else she would have just bought anything."

"Can you guys go bond in the living room? Its way to small in here for three people and I have to change"

"Dang! Someone's cranky! What time did you sleep last night?"

"Her lights were on when I went to bed and that was around two" My mom and Jack clearly didn't get the memo I just sent them to leave.

"Please to the living room. About to get naked here." I was not joking.

It only took me fifteen minutes to get ready.

"Jack come here!" I called.

"Oh My God!" I could hear him already complaining.

Jack got to my room and I could tell he was not expecting me to be ready

"Are you ready already? I thought girls took longer." he said.

"Yes, well almost."

"Ugh! your hair looks fine, love the dress, what else do you need?" I could tell he was in a hurry to get going.

" No, nothing. I just don't know if I should wear my wedges that are like six inches tall, or my TOMS which match the dress."

"Be comfortable, besides whatever you decide on you will be wearing all day." he reminds me.

I decide to throw the wedges that I never wear back in my closet and put on my comfortable TOMS

"Okay, im done." I come out of my room with my bag in hand that has my wallet and phone inside because I have no pockets.

"Wow. Daisy, I love that dress. You look nice." My mom is eyeing me up and down and i'm just waiting for her to tell me something about my shoes. To my surprise she doesn't say anything.

"Oh god i thought we were going to be longer. Lets go!"

I say bye to my mom and head out the door, as I start head down the walkway I hear my dad..

"Hey Daisy wait up" I hear my dad call from the back.

"Oh sorry dad i almost forgot to come say bye, Jack's mom is waiting for us at church."

"Ok Daze, but be careful. Come give me a hug." I ran over and gave my dad a hug and ran down the driveway to Jack's car.

"Text me or call me if you need a ride back." I heard my dad call out,

"ok dad, love you."

Jack drove us to a cafe down the block , he ordered his mom something while I stepped into the restroom.

As I washed my hands there was a knock at the door.

"One minute," I said. This is the only down side to the cafe. It only had one unisex bathroom.

I opened the door, as I looked up I froze. His face was thin and his eyes were a beautiful brown. His face was extremely familiar, he looked back at me and I felt as if he were staring at me with the same great intensity as I stared at him.

"Daze, let the guy go empty his bladder." I look behind him to see a line of three people with Jack behind him.

"I'm sorry." I stepped out of the way and let him into the bathroom. Just before he closed the door I turned to catch a glimpse of him one more time.
