"Hey bae, how are you?" Trey asked. I looked at him on the screen.
"I'm terrible. This class is so hard. I can't focus. Everything is going to fast. I'm stressed out."
"Calm down baby."
"It's easy for you to say. You not here. You not taking these classes where every professor assume that you only taking there class. I have 3 papers due and finals are coming up."
"Nay I'm not trying to stress you out."
"But you are. You call me a million times. Every time I get a good groove on my work you interrupt me."
"I'll talk to you later bae."
"Trey.." The call ended and I felt like an asshole. It wasn't him. I was just so overwhelmed by my classes. I shouldn't have taken it out on him. I couldn't focus anymore. I started to call him back but I knew he wouldn't answer. I sighed and picked up my phone.
"What you doing?" I asked after the hello.
"Nothing just finished working on my essay."
"Grrr everyone is studious but me." I whined. Jordan laughed.
"What happened? You told me you were studying all day."
"I was until I got into it with my boyfriend."
"Nay you been getting into it with him a lot lately. What's up?"
"I don't know. He just always call when I'm in the middle of studying and it kills my focus."
"Did you tell him that?"
"Yes...just not in nice words."
"If he didn't call you would be mad."
"You're right but..."
"You need to apologize."
"Why you always on his side?"
"Wrong is wrong and right is right. I'm not on anyone's side. I'm just being honest." He replied. I pouted.
"But he's not gonna answer because I made him mad."
"Well you need to text him."
"That's not gonna help get my focus back through."
"True. You should just take a break. I'm going to get some food. Want to come?" He questioned.
"Sure."
"I'll be there is 10."
"Kay." I hung up and put on something comfortable. I walked down to the lobby and waited on Jordan's text. I opened up my messages to Trey. They were considerably less than when I first started school. One word answers. ILY and How's your day? What was happening to us? I'm happy that break was coming soon. I needed to spend some time with my boyfriend. I felt as though the distance was killing us. Before I could figure out what to write him Jordan's text appeared on my screen. I stood up and walked out the door to his car. He opened the door for me and went around to the driver's side.
"Aren't you forever the gentlemen?" I said snidely as he put the car into drive.
"Well, I just figure a woman like you deserves the world and all that I have to give." He replied. I chuckled and sunk into the soft leather seats of his Audi. "Did you text him?"
"I don't know what to say." I replied not looking in his direction. For some reason, I was feeling butterflies. It wasn't the first time Jordan and I had gone out for food but I was feeling shy today.
"Tell him you apologize for how you acted. You've been under a lot of stress. You love him and can't wait to see him for break." I looked over at Jordan for the first time since we started our ride. I couldn't figure him out. He always gave great advice when it came to Trey and I but sometimes the things he would say to me didn't seem like something just a friend would say.
