The week had almost past and my relationship with Harry became more and more strange as we walked through the school door every morning. I woke up with a terrible head ache as if someone was practicing boxing with my brain instead. It really hurt! I didn't know how to stop it. Despite the fact it was killing me, I decided to go my way to the kitchen downstairs and eat some breakfast. I was hungry after all. But there was a problem. The moment I got to the first floor I realized it was too dark for a usual school morning and also a bit quiet... I looked through the nearer window but couldn't recognize the sun. It seemed as it hadn't come out yet. That was peculiar. I thought it was about seven o 'clock and by that time it should've appeared already. As if not big deal, I was the only one there or even awake. Lonely. Silent. I took a few minutes to make my mind but I finally made my way to my room again, just to make sure what time it was. I was pretty tired and lazy to turn on the lights. Too much light all of a sudden wouldn't do any good to my blue eyes.
I walked upstairs. When I climbed the last step of the stairs, I heard some snoring from the first room. My parents'. The noise was so loud I turned all of a sudden as reaction and almost fall down back to the main floor. I was now on the second floor. My parent's bedroom' door was closed. But, a window which faced the street alowed me to see the doorknob with a small and thin ray of light that came from a streetlight. I opened the door slowly. It was the noisiest one in the whole house. Once inside, I could barely notice my mom and dad sleeping. Snoring came from dad's mouth. Dad had suddenly silent down as if he had heard me coming inside. I bet he didn't. He was the kind of person that wouldn't wake up even if a firefighter truck passed away near their street. The few seconds I lasted trying to create a clear image of the room weren't enough. He begun to snore again. It was so annoying I had to leave and close the door again.
Why do head aches hurt so much? I was feeling really sick and dad's snoring wasn't helping, not a bit. In these times I just wanted to relax and take it easy. Be carefree. Try to think of any other subject that would make me forget about my brain aching. I walked about ten steps foward through the corridor and entered my room. The clock on top of my tiny bedside table indicated ten past three in the morning. There was when I came back to my aim. It was overly late for anyone to be awake and not even a school day. It was early Saturday. Despite of my confusion, I was hungry but I didn't have the strengh to walk any more and my head ache was exceeding my needs. In fact, it'd been two hours since I went to sleep that night so I hadn't slept that much either.
I didn't know what to do. My head ache was too strong for me to go to sleep again, too strong for me to walk my way to the toilet and wash my face, too strong for me to do nothing. Although my body may not respond to my beggings, I was going to do what it took to get to my mom's room again and ask for a special pill for head aches. For my luck, I couldn't move. Too late. It ached more and more as the seconds passed me by. I just layed on my bed and turned on the lamp not to feel lonely. My mom came in a minute and asked me if everything was okay. Of course things weren't OK. She came in and told me she'd heard me open the door and walk to my room. But say nothing. She also knew I was annoyed by dad's snoring but didn't know why I was awake at that hour in the early morning.
"It's my head..." I said forcing my eyes to open.
"You mean, you have a head ache?" She knew everything. Mom had a really powerful sixth sence.
"Yeea-" I barely finished the sentence "-ah..... "
She went downstairs and came to where I was as quickly as she could. She brought a pink and small pill with a plastic mug with water.
"Do I have to drink this? Isn't there any other way?"
"Do you want your head to ache the rest of the night?"
"No....." I said upset. That little thing was as horrible as eating mud. No, I think I'd rather eat mud than this pill. It had a spicy taste. Really strong to be honest...
Mom went to sleep and so did I.
