Jason's P.O.V

"I...I..don't know," she blushed as she tried to turn her face away from me to hide her flushed face. She looked so adorable standing there all flustered, it almost made me forget about our dreadful discussion ahead.

I put my hand under her chin and forced her face towards me. "Look at me," I whispered as I put my other hand on her waist and tugged her towards me, opening my legs slightly so she can stand between them. "I love how your so nervous and innocent when you're around me."
I put one of my hands on hers while my thumb grazed her smooth skin in an attempt to comfort her. "Sit down please I really want to explain to you as much as I ...can."

There was no way I would tell her the entire truth, but I will tell her enough to settle her nerves for the time being.

She sat down beside me, and it took every once of control in me not to grab her and hug her and make sure that she stays like that forever.

"I want to know everything, I really want to spend my life with you and in order for us to do that you have to be open with me." she spoke softly, vulnerability evident in her beautiful blue eyes.

"I will tell you everything," I replied back. Lie.

"The first time I saw you was a long time ago, when you were very young, about 10 years old. My pack came to...aid your pack because of an attack. A bunch of rogues where trespassing and we already spotted them before your pack saw them, and we decided to help, my dad at least. Back then I was too young, I was always looking out for trouble, and I wanted to know what was going on. I told my best friend at the time that we should follow them. At first he argued back but when he saw me leaving him behind, he wouldn't have it, so we ended up following them."

I took a deep breath before continuing. Even after all these years, I still felt that guilt, it never went away.

"That day I..I saw you standing there and I immediately felt an undeniable connection towards you. I felt an urge to protect you and I guess I somehow knew you were my mate. I decided to stay away since I was too young to actually do anything. I waited till you're old enough before I decided to do something about it. I was planning on getting you here but not like that. Your pack was under attack again, and I got really nervous knowing you were there. My pack went to get you out of there, even though I knew you're pack would be able to...handle it," I gulped. I really hope she believes what I'm saying because if she doesn't then I don't know what I would do. She won't be able to handle the truth just yet, even though for the most part the story is true, I just left the most important details out.

"So then, is my pack okay? Did anyone get hurt? how about my dad?" She frantically asked me. My mate was too goddamn kind and innocent for this. I tried to control my anger as I spoke my next words.

"Yes they are fine, I told your dad about you being my mate. Your pack is fine too. Though it would be best if we kept you being my mate a secret, we want to make sure that the rogues weren't after you. You might be in danger for all I know and that's the last thing I would ever want."
I searched my mate's eyes as she tried to process everything. I could tell that she was deep in thought and it gave me time to stare at how her lips were slightly parted, how her eyes were slightly concentrated as she was taking the information in, and how goddamn hot she looked as she was doing all of the above.

I couldn't bring myself to do anything about my plan, not right now at least. Maybe I could just spend another few days with her? It wouldn't do no harm right?
