Chapter 9 : Changes

Veronica's POV

The next day , I woke up and went Nessa's room. I wanted to wish her Happy Birthday. It's our first birthday which we are celebrating without talking to each other.

( knock on the door )

Vanessa : "Who's it?"

Veronica : "It's me , Nessa!"

Vanessa : "What do you want?"

Veronica : "I need you to open the door first."

Vanessa : "Aren't you tired after your romantic date with Aaron?"

Veronica : "Nessa , what are you talking about?"

Vanessa : "Aaron told me everything. Now I know the reason you yelled at me."

Veronica : "What?"

Vanessa : "You and Aaron are dating. You liked since the first day you met him."

Veronica : "No , Nessa. We weren't dating. We just went for dinner!"

Vanessa : "I don't believe in your lies anymore!"

Veronica : "I wanted to wish you 'Happy Birthday' and you ruined everything Nessa!"

I don't why Aaron need to tell those to Nessa. He just made things even worse.

At School.

Veronica's POV

Mariah : "Happy Birthday Veronica!"

Who the hell was that? I turned around and saw a stranger.

Veronica : "Umm , who are you?

Mariah : "Oh , I'm sorry. I'm Mariah Burriss."

Veronica : "You are Aaron's sister! How come you are here?"

Mariah : "Actually , I changed school cause It would be easier cause my brother is here."

I looked around and I can't seem to find Aaron anywhere.

Veronica : "Where's Aaron?"

Mariah : "He didn't come."

Veronica : "What happened to him?"

Mariah : "I don't know."

I'm scared that he will do something to himself.

Veronica : "Hey Mariah , how did you know my birthday?"

Mariah : "I saw your birthday cake and I also know that you and my brother are best friends."

I don't know whether we will be best friends again. I miss him a lot.

Mariah : "Hey Veronica , can I ask you something."

Veronica : "You may call me Roni , and you may ask."

Mariah : "I heard you don't have a girl best friend and I'm new here too. So?"

Veronica : "You want me to be your best friend?"

Mariah : "Exactly!"

Veronica : "Sure!"

Mariah and I really got along well. I like her a lot. 

After 5 Days.

Veronica's POV

It has been 5 days Aaron didn't attend school. I wish he comes today and I will clear the misunderstandings between us. After a while , in the hallways I saw him. 

It's just this time he looked different. He looked like a bully. He always waved at me when he saw me but this time he didn't even care. He's mad at me.

Then I was wrong. He didn't look like a bully. He was a bully. I made him into a bully. I was standing at my locker with Mariah when he approached us.

Aaron : "Hey , Mariah! So , you told me you have a best friend but you didn't mentioned that your best friend was a bitch.

Mariah : "Mind your words , Aaron! What happened to you? You weren't like this before."

Aaron : "Yes , I wasn't until a bitch walked into my life!"

I didn't know what to do but cry. Cry as hard as I can. Everyone in the hallway saw me. I ran to the restroom and Mariah came running behind me.

Mariah : "You ass , Aaron!"

Mariah came to the restroom.

Mariah : "Roni , don't cry!"

Veronica : "I didn't know I was having a best friend who is such a bad ass."

Mariah : "Roni , I never saw him like this before."

Veronica : "Neither do I , Mariah!"

Mariah : "Come on  , We have class."

We went to our class and I forget that I was the same class as Aaron. This time we were not sitting beside each other. Nessa and Alexa was happy to see this and when they heard that Aaron called me bitch , they were even more happier.
