My drunk friend

-

As soon as I enter the bar, strong smell of alcohol overwhelmed my nostrils, initiating my senses to throw up. But, my mind was occupied with one thought...Ariel.

She sounded terrible. In these whole three weeks of me knowing her, all I can conclude is she's extremely sweet and a genuinely caring person. She made sure that I was comfortable with everything she did and even if anyone tried to bother me or even try to slightly discomfort me, she was always there to support me.

I finally locate her with my eyes after a solid minute of scanning the whole bar. I find her slamming her head against the counter and repeatedly groan. She was definitely drunk.

''Ariel?'' I approach her.

''Y/n!'' She immediately squeals, her face shown evidence of her earlier intense crying session. However, right now all I could view before me, was a face that was giggling delightfully, making it obvious that alcohol overtook her senses and mixing up all her emotions.

"Are you okay?" I ask, she holds my shoulder and makes me sit on the stool next to her. She passes a cheesy smile in my direction, making me confused further.

"I'm sooo hungry! Like I am suddenly craving for pizza, hey GIVE ME A LARGE PIZZA PLEASE" She screams at the bartender. The bartender looked unbothered since he encounters these kinds of behaviour on the daily basis.

"Ari! Look at me! What happened?!"

"What happened?!" She suddenly screams, overwhelming my hearing, as if the bar music alongside people's random chatting wasn't blatant enough that she is now adding more.

"Okay, I'm right next to you!" I scold, meeting my brows together as I flinch.

"WHAT? Who's next to me?!" She looks right and left in the speed of light, before clutching onto my upper arm protectively. ''Don't worry! I will PROTECT you!''

Before my eyes could flicker, her eyes travel lower down to me. "Oh! I know who! It's you isn't it?" She bends down and begins to talk to my stomach as if she's actually interacting with a baby.

"Hey, baby! Is it warm inside??" She giggles, finding it difficult to keep the balance. She pats my stomach gently, making it harder for me not to break down into the biggest smile.

"Ariel-"

"Shush, I am talking to someone!" She puts the pointy finger against her lips. "Look your Mama is very rude. She doesn't let me talk to you!"

I press my lips together, trying hard not to burst at her cute drunkard interaction. "I promise ME! Your aunty will SPOIL YOU SO MUCH THAT YOU WILL FORGET YOU MUM RIGHT HERE!"

That's it. Unable to control any longer I finally give in and burst. Tearing up while laughing hard, I look up only to see Ariel angrily furrowing her eyebrows at me, still wobbling and struggling to stay up in one place.

"Hey, I am actually serious." She whines. "I will steal your baby! Watch!"

"Really? What will you do?" Giving up, I question the drunk girl before me, curious about her answer.

"If it's a girl, then DEFINITELY. I repeat!! DEFINITELY, NO BOYS WILL EVER HURT HER! EACH OF THEM ARE PIECE OF SHIT!"

"I agree with you!'' I join in, forgetting for a split second that I was the sober one, and maybe I should make an attempt to stop her. ''But first, let's go home!''

"No! I love it here!" She walks towards the couch that was a few metres away from our current spot. I tail behind her automatically. Unable to keep her feet to one place, she wanders back to the other side of the place, to another couch. "Ari! Stop walking that fast!" I complain, short in breath.
