Underwater

Chapter 7

It's 3:00 in the morning. Why in the world did my body choose this time for me to wake up.

I find myself unable to sleep so I walk around my room and sit on a small couch that's on the right side of my room, next to the door.

Twelve minutes later Skye walks in.

"I can't sleep," She says sitting down next to me.

"It feels like the fish are watching me," She explains, looking over at me.

"Right!" I smile.

Someone who understands!

We both smile and watch the ocean start to come alive as the night creeps into day.

The morning settles in and the animals start to wander around, one even managed to run into the glass.

"Must be nice being a fish," I say still looking through the glass.

"Yeah, no school," Skye says.

"No jobs," I say.

"We don't have jobs," She says back.

"We will," I say.

"Can't argue with that," She shrugs.

"No homework" Skye says continuing the list.

"Sounds relaxing," I say.

"Mhmm," Skye agrees nodding her head tiredly.

I glance over at the clock hanging above the bed. 7:06.

"I bet Aerie and Davina are up," Skye says also looking at the clock.

"Yeah, we should go get breakfast," I say both of our stomachs' growling.

"I'm starving," Skye agrees.

We walk out of the door finding Davina watching TV and Aerie spread out across the couch.

"Anyone hungry?" I ask.

"I am!" Aerie shouts jumping up from her sleeping position.

We all jump back.

"Okay..." I laugh

We all get dressed and rush out the door looking crazed running around the hallways.

"Found one!" Aerie yells coming to a screeching halt.

"Welcome to the Underwater Hotel" A french woman says as we all join Aerie at the desk.

The lady grabs menus and we sit down at a booth with pale green fabric.

"Welcome to Sea Smiles where the sea creatures are awake and so are we," The french woman says smiling.

"What can I get you to drink?" She asks pulling out an ordering notebook.

We all look around at each other.

"Who's first?" I mouth.

"Me," Aerie mouths back smiling.

"Sprite, please," Aerie says.

"Can I please have Shirley temple" Davina states as the woman turns to her.

"Dr. Pepper," Skye says smiling politely.

"Can I have Sprite, please," I finish off the list with.

"Coming right up," She says her accent weakening.

We look around at all of the animals swimming around us.

"Dolphins!" Skye squeils.

She points to the dolphin in front of her.

Davina and I turn around to see dozens of grayish blue dolphins swimming and darting around the glass.

They all dart off farther into the sea. I turn around and so does Davina.

"That was awesome!" Davina adds grinning.

"Yeah!" I agree smiling widely.

"Here you go!" The lady says setting all of our drinks on the table.

We all grab them, placing them in front of ourselves.

Davina and Skye practically inhale theirs the second it's in their reach.

"Is it good?" I ask laughing.
