Finn

As I was about to pack to get my things ready to go back home, I was interrupted by my friend.

"Finn!" I peer at my friend and smiled.

"Millie." I say with a smile.

"Before you take off, the boys were wondering if you would like to come downstairs for a bit. For a last goodbye." I couldn't pass the opportunity. So I smiled and went along.

(In the lobby)

We were surrounded in the lobby. Asking questions and chatting. There came a point where Millie would look over at me and would look away when I looked to her.

"So... Finn. What you gonna miss the most of the summer." I look over and peer at Millie. Everything slowed down and only she was centred attention.

"Earth to Finn!" Noah spoke.

"Yeah. You guys and the girls." I say. The boys smile and laugh a little.

"Is Finn in love?" I look to Caleb as he was smirking.

"What? Me? No!" I clear. "I just..."

"Hey guys." Sadie interrupts. I look to Millie and made eyes with her.

"We think Finn has a crush on one of you girls." Gaten spoke.

"Gaten!"

"You know you do." Noah says.

"I am not." I look back at Millie and she smiles and awkwardly loses the smile.

(A few minutes later)

I made my way over to Millie as she stood there not speaking to anyone.

"Millie? Is something wrong?"

"Uh, yeah. Everything is fine." Millie says. She smiles but I know she's sad about something.

"Millie. You can tell me anything." I say. She opened her mouth to say something but nothing came out. Suddenly we was interrupted by the gang.

"So... a little birdy told me you guys have something going on and hidden in secret. Is that true?" Sadie says smiling. I looked at her serious and so did Millie.

"No." We answer at the same time.

"Come on. You guys look at each other in a way no one does and you both have secret conversations." Gaten speaks.

"That's what friends do." Millie looked down sad.

"Look, if there was anything going on. You guys would be the first to know." I told. Millie looked once and didn't the rest.

I was about to get my things and leave until I heard my name. I turn and see Millie running towards me.

"Look, I've been keeping this to myself this whole time but I can't keep it a secret for much longer. I need you in my life. Without you, I wouldn't be me right now." Millie's says. "What I'm trying to say is... I like you. A lot and I think we could make a go of it. If you want." I thought of what Millie said and it seemed sweet. But did I feel the same towards her.

"I..."

"Finn. We're leaving." My brother interrupts.

"Coming." I say turning to him and back at Millie. "Right now is not a good time." I settle for now.

"Oh." Millie says. Just then I saw the saddness again.

"But don't think I don't like you that way either. I do. I like your looks, your personality and your characteristics. Everything about you is perfect. Too perfect. But I have to head back home and I don't know how long I'll be till I see you again." I hated goodbyes.

"I'll miss you." Millie spoke.

"I'll miss you most of all." I head close to her and lean in, hugging her one last time before I grabbed my bag and left. Luckily no one saw us. If they did I would be embarrassed all the time now. I hope Millie does well. And copes without me. I believe she can. She can. I can. We can.
