jeongguk's mum's pov

no i'm not that overprotective, i'm just cautious about my child. who knows what can happen to him; he gets so vulnerable. so i have a tracker on my phone, jeongguk knows about it and agrees that it is necessary.

so when it was getting dark, and jeongguk was meant to be home by now, i checked his location. my heart wasn't necessarily racing, it was just beating at a slightly faster pace. i may have held my breath while checking the app though. but to see that he was at a biscuit shop he never told me about and i didn't even know existed, sort of alarmed me. but i kept my cool and put on my scarf and grabbed my keys.

the wind was slightly stronger today, making my eyes water with each stride. the sky was clear and filled with a light shade of blue, a crescent moon up in the corner of my peripheral vision.

it only took my somewhat five minutes to reach the shop, but when i saw all the lights off, i doubted today's technology. which i never do. however, i approached the door anyway and stepped in.

the desks were clear; the jars of biscuits were lined up perfectly; fairy lights dripped off a wooden feature wall and the cosy biscuit shop had an all round homely atmosphere.

but one problem.

no jeongguk.

before i started to mildly panic, i checked his location again and saw it was just 5 meters away.

i peered round the back room, and there laid my son and another boy wrapped in each other's arms. a grey sheet covered the boys and they slept without a pillow, but the mystery boy had his arm around jeongguk, and the aforementioned had his head rested deeply into the other's upper torso. jeongguk's glasses laid next to the slightly damaged mattress in an oddly-shaped way.

i knew jeongguk let people in too quickly, but i felt like this time it will be okay. i could tell he felt safe with this boy. i walked out the door and back home grinning the whole way; knowing my boy was happy and content.
