"Nice to meet you, Mason." I felt a chill go down my spine when he said that. I don't know why but this man gave me a bad feeling. I was snapped out of my thought when my stomach growled. "You must be hungry. Let me get you something to eat." Mark walked through the doorway he came from and I sat down by the table. After a little while, he came out with a tray. On the tray, there was a plate with food and a glass of water. I stared at the water and felt another chill down my spine. The thought of water scared me, while the thought of fire gave me a safe feeling. I knew enough to know that it should be the other way around. Mark put down the tray in front of me and I started eating. It was very tasty almost as tasty as...Zane's cooking. I remembered Zane's cooking. I still don't know who this Zane is. But I know he is a great cook, and that the person whose name was Cole was not. Cole, Zane. I'm starting to remember things. I finished eating and was about to drink the water. But I froze. I couldn't seem to even grab the glass. A wave of fear prevented me from touching it. "Are you okay Mason?" Mark asked me. "I-I don't know. I-I'm too afraid to touch the glass." "Maybe you have aquaphobia." I turned my head to him, "What's that?" "It means that you're scared of water." "Oh..." I turned back to the glass, "Maybe I do."  I got out of the chair and Mark took the tray and walked back to the room I assumed was the kitchen. I walked back over to the fireplace. I sat down on the floor in front of it. I watched as the flames moved as if they were dancing. It was so relaxing to watch them. The heat from the fire felt like a hug around me and I felt like there was no problem in the whole world. Mark came back and sat down next to me. I turned my head to him and decided I should ask him, "How did I get here? And what happened?" Mark stared at me and then let out a sigh, "I brought you here. I saw you fall down a cliff and saved your life." "I remember falling. But I also remember some figures standing at the top of the cliff." "That was your friends." "But why didn't they save me?" "I don't know. I saw them just stand and watch as you fell." I felt my heart sink. My friends had just watched me fall to my death and not even tried to save me. "Was it my fault? Had I been a bad friend that wasn't worth saving? Or were they just bad friends?" "They are just bad friends. I know you were not a bad friend." "How would you know?" "I just do." I wasn't satisfied with the answer but I rolled with it. "I think I'm going back to my room." I stood up and started walking. Mark stood up as well and stopped me, "If you get bored you can always ask me if I got something to do." "No, I'm fine. I'm just going to take a book and read." I walked past him and grabbed a book and walked towards my room. I closed the door behind me. I lied down on my bed and let out a sigh. He lied to me. I can't trust him. But I have no one else to trust. Maybe it's better if I don't trust anyone else then myself. But I can stay here for a little while, and then I'm going to leave. I stared at the ceiling. Why can't I seem to remember my friends? And why do the names, Cole, Zane, Jay, Nya, Lloyd, feel so special to me? Is Kai really my name? I have so many questions, but no one with the answers... Wait! Mark said I have friends. Maybe they have the answers I'm looking for. I need to get to my friends. They can help me. But how would I find them? All I know is that my friends watched me fall down that cliff. But I have to try. I stood up and walked out of my room. I checked around the room if Mark was anywhere around. I didn't see him. I let out a breath of relief. I walked over to the double door that leads outside and grabbed the handle. "Are you leaving?" I froze and turned around and saw Mark standing about one meter from me. "Y-Yes. I need to go for a walk." Mark let out a sigh, "I really hoped that I wouldn't have to do this, Kai. But you give me no choice." Kai? I never told him my name. How did he know? I saw a smirk form on his face and all my instincts screamed at me to run. I quickly opened the door and started running. I ran through the front yard of Mark's house/mansion. I heard him shout behind me. He was chasing me. I ran through a city. People stared at me as I ran, some screamed after me. After a while, I came to a noodle shop and ran inside to hide from Mark. I leaned against the door and tried to catch my breath. A girl with red hair walked up to me with a shocked expression on her face. She looked extremely familiar to me. A new name popped up in my head, Skylor. She started to tear up while she stared at me. It made me a little uncomfortable. "K-Kai?" She sobbed. "H-How do you know my name?" Her expression turned confused. "What do you mean? I'm Skylor, your friend. You meet me on my father's island." I shook my head, "I don't remember you. But to be honest, I don't remember much at all." "Memory loss..." She mumbled. "What?" "Nothing. I can help you remember." "You can?!" "Yes, but I need help from some of my friends. So can you sit down by a table while I call them?" I didn't know if I should trust her, but what other choice did I have. I walked over to a free table and waited.
