The whole hall burst into applause as the hat finished its song. It bowed to each of the four tables and then became quite still again, "When I call your name, you will put on the hat and sit on the stool to be sorted." McGonagall said and she opened a scroll, obviously no 11 year old was going to pay much attention to the names being called so it came to no surprise that Cassiopeia wasn't paying attention until Lianna's name was called, her dark eyes instantly snapped to the brunette that was walking to the stool, her first instinct being to grab something close to her, which unfortunately was 'the overgrown child who fell on her' 's hand causing him to look at her and smirk, to which Cassiopeia responded by dropping it instantly and glare harshly at him.

"SLYTHERIN!" The hat shouted, before it even touched Lianna's head, the emerald green house burst into cheers and claps as they welcomed their newest member, and so far the first, another three students were sorted two into Hufflepuff and one into Gryffindor before the Professor said in the same strict tone "Lestrange, Cassiopeia." instantly whispers began to flow around the hall.

"That's Bellatrix's daughter."

"Her parent's are in Azkaban."

"Wonder who raised her."

"Do you think she's like her parents?"

"She's definitely a future death eater."

Annoyed Cassiopeia took her time walking to the stool and snapped at the whole school "She can hear you idiots and she would advice you to mind your own bloody businesses." Silence once again filled the room, everyone being too shocked that the young Lestrange had snapped at them, of course this silence wasn't for everyone, from the Slytherin table Lianna stated "That's my best friend!" with a confident glance on her features while from the rest of the group she could faintly hear 'the overgrown child that fell on her' whisper to his twin and new friend "That's my future wife." which resulted in the other two trying to stifle their laughs.

Cassiopeia then sat down, crossed her arms and glared at everyone as the teacher placed the tattered hat on her head, making it fall over her eyes, being a tad too big for the raven haired young witch and covering her eyes, disdain and annoyance seeped into her as she huffed, yet made no attempt to fix the hat, letting it instead cover her eyes, "Hmm," said a small voice in her ear. "Difficult. Very difficult. Plenty of courage, I see. A brilliant mind too. There's talent, A my goodness, yes — and a nice thirst to prove yourself, to prove that you are just as cunning as your mother, loyal beyond belief now that's interesting... So where shall I put you?"

"All houses would suit you well." the small voice that Cassie understood belonged to the hat continued "Hufflepuff will be the place where your soul would be at peace, in Ravenclaw you could exercise your mind to it's peak, or maybe in Gryffindor, like your mother's cousin, you would find the best friend one could ask for, like Sirius Black with his best friend, but Slytherin will help you on the way to greatness, no doubt about that."

Cassie knew her sorting was taking a lot of time but she understood why it was, she was intelligent beyond her years, more loyal than she should be, braver than family but she was certain that she was also the most cunning person someone could raise, everyone knew that, everyone could see the coldness in the young witch's eyes, the coffee brown eyes that we neither her mother or father's, eyes that held unnoticed malice, innocent hope and fear, this however didn't change what she wanted, what she hoped, what she thought or even what she wished, to be in the house that so many of her family members have been in.

"SLYTHERIN!"

The hat then shouted, the word echoing through the silent room and slowly the Professor pulled the hat from Cassiopeia's head allowing the lights from the candles that hovered all around the room to momentarily blind the young Lestrange, and the second she could see again, she caught the sight of Lianna jumping onto the bench she was sitting on and cheer, prompting all the other Slytherins to do nearly the same thing.
