~Corrine~

BRIIING BRIIING BRIIING.

I woke up with a jolt and slammed my hand down on the alarm. "THE ANSWER IS A" I blurted out, with a slight sting to my palm.

"Good morning to you too Corrie" I peeled my eyes open and looked over to my door frame. It was my mom, of course, coming to wake me up.

"Did I do it again?" I looked at her with questioning eyes as I pushed my messy black curls out of my face. Letting out a short laugh she turned away; "This time it was A".

I rolled my eyes and lightly slapped at my cheeks to wake myself up a bit more. "Thank god I don't go to sleep in class" I mumbled to myself, then rolled out of bed.

I walked over to my tiny closet that never had clothes in season for one odd reason or another. I have no one to impress anyway.

I put on some white wash pants, a red shirt and black chucks. Literally the simplest outfit I could think of, besides my beloved sweatpants.)

Now for the hard part. I walked into my bathroom and looked in the mirror.

     Walking death.

I picked up my comb and said a silent prayer. For me and the small helper. I began to battle with my curls and was kinda getting somewhere until Abigail called me.

I walked out to my room and picked up my phone that read Abby cakes.

"Wassup Abby cakes" I answered casually as I walked back into the bathroom and turned on hot water.

"Oh nothing much just YOU'RE ABOUT TO BE LATE" she screeched out. My pupils dilated to the size of a pizza. "What do you mean it's only 7:50.. 7:50"  I could hear her chuckle as I put the phone down and zoomed to finish up my morning routine.

Usually I wouldn't mind being late. Unfortunately though since it was a usual habit I had been put on thin ice.

I picked back up the phone and grabbed my book bag and car keys then ran down the stairs.

I stumbled into the kitchen and saw my mom and brother drinking coffee. "Hi... bye" I waved as I booked it to my car.

"Might wanna slow down flash" Abigail teased laughing with, who I can tell by the voice, Alesia.

"Can't be late" I drove a reasonable pace to school and fortunately made it on time. I didn't live to far anyways so that was a plus.

I jogged up to the school doors then walked the rest of the way. "My locker?" I questioned. "Yep see ya soon love ya" Abby rushed out with Alesia chiming in on 'love ya'. The phone went silent so I took it as a sign to push it into my pocket.

I walked a bit quicker to my locker where they were standing. "So what happened to you Corrie" Lily asked me as she looked in my locker mirror to put on lipgloss.

When and where did this girl get my combo to my locker? I shook my head to get rid of the question, which I will ask later and looked at her. "I have no clue" after all I do set my alarm to be a bit earlier.

"Was it looking for an outfit?" Abby added in. "No I spent two seconds on this" I said pushing Lilly out of the way to get my books. "Hair?" Lilly asked as she played in her own. "Maybe" I shrugged and closed my locker.

We walked down the hallway talking about nonsense until we heard what seemed like an average College fight. "I got $20 that it's Ashton and his 'gang' torturing people" Abby smiled looking over to me and Lilly. "No way that's what it always is, I learned after the first ten times" Lilly replied with a slight pout.

"What about you Corrie" she looked at me with questioning eyes "Do you think it's your old bestie" she teased. I rolled my eyes and looked at her "Yeah I do and we were besties in like middle school that's so old" I told her as we walked closer to the noise.

"Yeah but you two would be cute together" Lily nodded. Maybe if I were still 12. "Eww gross" I said rolling my eyes, I was going to fake gag but then we came to a stop.

Ashton's 'bodyguards' had the hall blocked off as the man himself was in the middle with some cute new guy. Luckily for my friends they had the same class and they didn't have to go any further.

Thy always conveniently were able to slip away. I chalked it up to the disgusting  caved inward on itself nonsense I call my luck

They kissed my cheeks and wished me luck. How cliche I'm stuck out here with a group of hostile kids. Kids I promised to keep myself away from by whatever means necessary.

        Poppycock.

I walked up to Hudson and tapped his shoulder. Turning with a soft smile it took no time for him to begin teasing. "Long time no see Princess" I sucked in a deep breath and rolled my eyes. After years of trying to separate myself from being the 'princess' I still hadn't escaped it.

"Could ya move I need to get to class" I tried my best to look bored. However I knew that Hudson would never miss a bit, it was his job to watch.

The fights were the exact reason I strayed away from them. The entire lifestyle was.

Hudson's smile turned into a frown "You know I can't not until Ashton's done beating his ass" I sucked my teeth with a bit of a glare leaning on my face, what a dumb little bodyguard.

I had ten minutes left and I was not going to be late.

I started to fake cry. Thank god I use to constantly be around them or I wouldn't know his weak spot. Each of the boys had a very human soft spot for the people they loved.  In a way it touched my heart that I was still able to be apart of that spot.

"Okay okay just don't cry please" he moved to the side slightly and nudged Carlson out of the way, making a small gap.

"What are you doing Princess" Carlson asked as I squeezed through. "Trying to get to class duh" I replied as if it was obvious, which in my defense it was.

I made it into the 'ring' and saw Ashton beating the other guy to a pulp.

     Damn my good soul.

I rushed over to them and pulled Ashton back. A part of me expected him to swing when he spun around.

"WHO THE FUCK-" however he stopped fully when he saw me. "What the hell" Josh said as he turned around.

He didn't have to watch the crowd nobody dared to touch the 'kid' of the group so he was the only one holding his side that blocked me.

Just one more person to get past and I was home free to first block.

I should have went for it but, no I felt the urge save people today. I quickly moved past a stunned Ashton and next to the new boy.

I gripped his arm to help him up and then moved to grab his hand. "Cmon we don't got all day he doesn't stay like that forever"

Pushing past Josh and running out towards the stairs everything left my brain. All except one thing.

I was defiantly late for class.
