My past

"So Mr Hale." I say flopping onto my couch. "Tell me about Vampires." Jasper pulls a face when sitting down at the very end of the couch; away from me.

"About vampires? Considering you are one I didn't think you'd need me to?" Snapping out of my mind that seems to be scolding me for being so disgusting that my mate doesn't want to be near me I give a small smile before speaking up:

"I have only spoken to 4 vampires in my 115 years of life. Caius, when I got turned and that one occasion where he found me. Jane and Alec on the second occasion where I found Jane is a bitch and Alec is a flirt who can't keep him hands to himself while the other - being me - is immobile." Jaspers face turns hard at this point and a small barely audible growl erupts from him so I look down at my hands being embarrassed. "And they are all from the Volturi so they definitely did not tell me anything useful." I try to let out a laugh to lift the tone that has been created in my living room but It doesn't seem to work as my laugh comes out like a croak.

"And then I've met Bill. The man who turned me."

"How were you turned?" I look up finally and see that Jasper has moved slightly closer.

"well..." I let out a unnecessary breath. "It was my wedding day. I didn't really love the man but at that time I was lucky someone so great wanted me. And he was really kind so you know I though I would learn to love him and I really wanted to because I had no one there for me. Anyway, I was almost ready to go, I had to get my dress on and that would be that. But John - Who was the best man - had decided it was his place to have some fun before the ceremony with me. He gagged me so I couldn't say anything and had his way with me. Then he left me for dead and waited with my fiancé to come find me when I didn't walk down the isle. He would of just left me and got away with it." I laugh bitterly, "Bill was the chef which I find ironic. But he instantly smelt my blood, because let's face it a human could of smelt it due to the amount, and he came and found me. Without asking and telling he just changed me told me what I was said sorry good luck and left." I laugh again "the dick. With determination I threw my dress on and walked down that isle giving a nice little smile to John. I was meant to get married, have a party to make John nervous and endure it then kill him. But when I thought back to what happened I snapped and killed everyone in the room... saving John till last."

"I'm sor-" I shake my head.

"Don't be. It was a long time ago..."

"You've never met any vampires after that besides the Volturi?"

"Nope. Which is surprising as I've been lots of places." I smile slightly looking into Jaspers darkened eyes. "But I read about us. About the wolves. About everything. Books don't actually tell you much and some of it is lies so that's kinda shit."

"I'll teach you." Jasper says still not breaking eye contact only to my lips when I bite my bottom lip to keep my smile away.

"Thankyou." I whisper bringing my hand up to push back a strand of his honey golden hair as his eyes watch my every move.

"What do you want to know about?" He breaths out in a slight daze. After thinking for a while a sly grin breaks out on my face as I lower my arm and demand:

"Mates." With a chuckle and a shake of his head he goes into the suggested topic while looking at my turned off tv which allows me to watch him carefully.

__________

"Look! You're moving. You're ALIVE!" I hear after handing my permission slip to the teacher.

"Yeah, false alarm sadly." I smile when seeing its Mike talking to me.

"Actually, I'm glad you're not dead 'cause that would suck, plus I wanted to ask you - even though it's, like, a month away - if-" I turn slightly to see Jasper in a hushed conference with Edward and Alice with a stern face and I smile remembering the night before where we just spoke the time away, Jasper then abruptly looks up in slight hatred when hearing words come from the boy in front of me. I quickly focus back on Mike to not seem rude and not seem like a stalker.
