this song, this whole album actually, was written in a really vulnerable, probably the most vulnerable, hardest period of my life, and i see a lot of young people like me here.

and this is probably one of the most important messages or things i could talk about during my show.

the song scar tissue talks about, scar tissue is basically the part of the skin that kinda grows back after the skins been burned or hurt, it's the body's way of healing. it's when the skin isn't completely back to way it was before but it's recovering. and i felt like while i was writing this album was the time where i was healing and recovering from something that i had been through. and this time in my life had taught me about pain.

you can't escape pain. you can't go around pain. you just have to go through it and you have to feel it. and while you feel it, you have to be so patient and so loving to yourself, you have to treat yourself like you would treat your best friend if your best friend was going through a hard time.

and if any of you out here are going through a hard time right now, you feel lost or you feel confused, i just hope that you remember that i want you to promise me right now that you will be kind and you will be patient and you will be loving with yourself, do you promise me that?
