Charlotte's POV:
[TUESDAY]"Can I go for a walk?" I ask my mom as I walk into the dining room where she's sitting.
She looks up from the newspaper she's reading and nods. "Sure sweetie, just don't go too far."
I smile and nod before heading out the door, after grabbing my coat.
Obviously i'm not actually going on a walk, i'm going to the sheriffs station. It's not too far from my house.
Betty doesn't know that i'm going, neither do Jughead and Sweet Pea. They would not be happy if they found out.
After about twenty minutes, I finally reach the building. As I walk up the steps, I feel my nerves grow. I take a deep breath and before I can psych myself out, I push the door open, making the bell hanging above it ring.
The door closes behind me as I look around.
"Hi miss, can I help you?" My head snaps towards the front desk, where a man is sitting.
I smile sheepishly and walk over. "Y-Yes, um, i'd like to see FP Jones?"He sends me an apologetic smile. "Sorry hun, he just got transferred."
My eyebrows furrow. What? "Where to?"
"Local jail. We ran out of room here, so they sent him there." The man explains.
I place my hands on the counter. "B-But he didn't do anything wrong."
"Like I said, it's only temporary until we can find more room here." He sends me a look of reassurance. "I can give you the address if you'd like?"
I gulp. "Yes please."
I texted my mom and Betty, saying i'd be stopping at Pop's so they don't start worrying. Luckily, the jail was only about a half an hour walk from the station.
