My name is Milano, I'm 17 years old and have a disfunctional family. I have some friends that are very special to me. Danny, Tiana, and Brimmy. I play basketball for my school. I could say I'm the best and also the captain but I'm still not proud of what I've become. It's probably the bull that my step father Jace put in my head.
I am Hawaiian just like my biological father. I don't see him much anymore because my mother told me to never talk to nor about him. Secretly. I try to find him by sneaking out the house and following as much 40 year old men on social media.
"Milano you know the drill." Jace, my step- father, said with a determined voice. The daily routine is, I go to the "Dark Room" and Jace comes to beat me up like he's preparing for a fight and I'm his punching bag. It's simple as that. It's not like I enjoy it I just don't want to get in more trouble than I already am.
"Do your worst." I sighed.
"That's my girl." He chuckled.
What a weird man. He likes terrorizing girls. I can't wait until I graduate. Two more years, sounds like alot but I have to stick with it. They said if I don't do what they say, they won't pay for me to go to college. So I do their wishes, clean the dishes clean their rooms and bathrooms, and take out the trash. They still give me a nice room and food to eat. They aren't bad parents. I'm just a bad daughter and to teach me to be better they beat me. I seem to never learn my lesson. Jace and my mom are druggies. They tell me to buy them drugs from an illegal seller. This have been happening for three years now and I know the routine.
"Your done, go wash up." I rubbed my face from the pain and sighed. You must be wondering why they do this. Well, for years I've never got my act together. Meaning I would get in a lot of trouble only because Jace and my mom were in a argument and the only way to get their attention was to at least once go to juvenile but then realized they had to pay to bail me out which I didn't think that through. The other reason is that they think I was a mistake. My mom told me if I could shove you all the way back to Jesus I would. I just started to believe everything they say because honestly I don't know what to believe.
I rinsed all the blood off and put on my clothes. My family is also rich and the bad thing is, we have a maid but though they force me to clean. Even the maid forces me to clean! I really don't think she is a real maid, like what type of maid does that? It doesn't matter now. I've been cleaning for years and dealing with drug dealers. At least I took some myself. I grabbed my changing bag, skateboard and rode it to the park. I found my friends Danny, Tiana and Brimmy.
"Hey guys." I said smiling at all of them.
"What's up? Fell on glass again?" Danny asked pointing to my face.
"You already know, my clumsy ass." They laughed and so did I. "What are we waiting for let's go, we are going to be late for my basketball tournament!" We all got on our rides and went towards the school that wasn't too far from here. "Linkton High" was a nice school where all the rich kids are. I rather not be with snuck up, abnoxious people anyway. I went to the locker room we settled in and changed my clothes. I put my hair in a ponytail then put my lucky shoes on. They were my father's and I found them in my mom's room. She got mad because she couldn't find them but she doesn't know I have it and play with them on. My mom also doesn't know about me playing a sport. She probably thinks I'm out partying and whoring around but I rather play basketball than go to a party. I walked out the locker room and say where my team was.
"Late again Milano?" My coach said annoyed.
"I'm sorry sir it won't happen again."
"Yea that's what you said the last time. One more absent and you're off the team." He turned back around looking at the game.
"But sir, I'm the best on the team. I'm the Capitan even. You can't do that!" I begged.
"Oh yes I can and I will if you are late again." He turned back to the game, done with the conversation. I can't be kicked off the team! It's the only thing that makes me happy and if that happens I don't know what I will do. "Milano your up." I got up and stood next to the score taker to wait for my signal to go on court. The whistle blew and the reff called me in. I ran to my spot and took my stance. The play started and I followed the person with the ball. She dribbled it and went under her legs. Funny, I can do that too. She got closer and next thing I waited for the good moment. We only need one shot to win this thing. I got closer and took the ball away from her dribbling it towards my teams goal. I made it and the time ran out then buzzed. The crowed went wild as my team came running towards me and hugging me. I laughed while crying but they were tears of joy.
"You did it Milano!" Brimmy yelled over the crowd. Yes I did . I turned towards my coach then said...
"Thinking about kicking me off the team now?" I smirked and he was speechless as he sighed, shaking his head. I giggled and turned towards my friends as we jump up and down in joy.
This night was great as the team went out to get pizza for our victory. Our coach voted against it because he's all about...
Watch your fat.
Stay in shape.
Don't eat that it's too greasy.
Nutrition gives you the best condition.
Since it was our fifth time winning, he decided to cut us some slack. I was very glad he did because tonight was about to be hell again, once I get home.
