When the door swung open soundlessly, Jeremy was appalled. Normally the door was creakier than a bullfrog at dawn. Jeremy stepped out in his bare feet and his outfit from that morning. He was uncomfortable, not seeing Stranger anywhere. Where was Stranger?
Jeremy crept down the hall, toward his mother's room. The door hadn't been opened in nearly a year. To his surprise, the room was unlocked. He tentatively stepped in, and went to her old vanity. His eye ached from what he did. He wiped the blood, still streaming out, and looked at his crimson hand. Jeremy looked for a moment around him, and tasted the liquid. It was metallic. Salty.
G o o d .
He wiped the remnants on his mother's vanity and opened a drawer. Inside was her favorite pearl necklace. He picked it up and fondled it. Without thinking, he shoved it into his pocket, and smiled.
"M a g o w i l l k e e p i t s a f e ," Jeremy muttered.
He stepped out of his mom's room and quietly shut the door behind him. He crept to the end of the hall, and into the kitchen. Made on the counter were various items. Jeremy took the box of sweets belonging to Stranger.
"Hee hoo," he giggled.
He carried the box back to his room and slammed the door closed. Quickly, he used his hairpin to relock the door. Hiding the sweets box under his pillow, he was still bleeding profusely.
Then he realised.
"WAIT FUCK," Jeremy gasped.
He remembered he smeared blood along his mother's vanity. Normally, he wouldn't cuss, but he was making his own choices now. He would try his hardest to make Stranger's life H E L L while he stayed.
