When Helen was done making sure everything looked alright, Tony led you to your new room. It was lovelier than anything you'd ever lived in before. There was a queen sized bed pushed against the wall to the left and a large wardrobe set back into the far wall. A cozy chair rested in the left corner, and your belongings were carefully laid out on it, including the pearls. On the right was a small antique makeup table next to the door leading into your bathroom. It was everything you'd ever wanted.

Tony made sure to tell you that everybody would be eating dinner at 6:00 and made it clear that he wanted to introduce you then, so you took the time you had before dinner to run a hot bath and wash the dried blood out of your matted hair. The bathroom was equipped with everything you could ever need. There was a wide array of soaps and bath salts and all of the necessities could be found in the vanity. You stepped out of the bath and wrapped yourself up in a plush robe. You were surprised to even find three sets of clothes in the wardrobe: a pair of pyjamas, a set of athletic clothes, and a pair of leggings and a long sweater. You opted for the latter, wanting to make an alright impression. By the time 6:00 rolled around, your hair had dried and you were on your way to the lounge.

There were multiple floors dedicated to the Avengers living quarters. Each individual floor had a small living space and a kitchenette, but a larger living space and full sized kitchen and bar existed on the first of the Avengers' floors. You'd be lying if you said you weren't nervous, and when you arrived, everybody was already there. As you stepped into the room all eyes went to you.

"(y/n)!" Tony yelled your name with open arms, a drink in his hand. "Come meet the team. Mingle." He waved his free hand around to drive home his point about mingling. 

You'd be lying if you said you didn't know who everyone was. Wanda was helping Tony with the food, and everyone else was standing around. The room was full of friendly conversation, so you forced yourself to relax and look as confident as you could muster before you wandered behind the bar to fix yourself a drink. You felt eyes follow you as you moved but couldn't put a face to that feeling. Steve brushed past you in pursuit of another beer and you found yourself jumping. His eyes sparkled when he looked your way.

"I'm so sorry I didn't mean to scare you -" he started when you cut him off.

"No, no it's okay I'm just nervous I guess." You gave him a small smile, trying to maintain eye contact as you sipped your sangria to taste. He laughed in response.

"There's nothing to worry about. We don't bite. It's (y/n) isn't it?" You nodded and he stuck out his hand for you to shake. "I'm Steve. Welcome to the team." You said your thanks and tipped some more red wine into your drink. You had a feeling you'd need it. "Pardon my asking, but you look a bit young to be drinking?" You laughed lightly at his comment.

"Legal in Canada." You smirked in response, clinking your glass against his bottle. He shook his head, motioning for you to follow him back to the crowd.

Soon enough you'd met everybody and had a chance to talk to almost everyone. There was only one left, who you only knew as the Winter Soldier. You hadn't been introduced, and he kept his distance from the rest of the group. Steve would go over to him and talk low every once in a while, but the mysterious man kept his distance from everybody else. You caught pieces of information from everybody else, and were able to piece together that he'd lost all his memories, he was almost always nervous and unsure of himself. Everybody except Steve still seemed unsure of him too. He looked weary. Like he hadn't slept in weeks. You tucked the tidbits of information into your brain for later. This tall, dark figure had caught your attention, but you knew that as much as you wanted to connect with everybody on the team all at once that this one was going to take his time.
