As I drove towards the action in the middle of the street, I noticed a young, blond-haired girl. From a distance, she looked cute. Maybe even cute enough for me to "rescue" her.

Then, I watched in horror as she jumped off a nearby building.

I quickly unbuckled my seatbelt and ran outside. "Hey!" I yelled at the falling girl. "You're gonna die!"

The girl landed on her feet and looked around. Noticing me, she pulled a small pistol out of her jacket pocket and pointed it at me.

I ran forward, grabbing the barrel of the gun and pointing it upwards. Disarming the young girl of her gun, I swept her feet out from under her. Now, she was on the ground, her hat had fallen off and her long, blond hair flowed from under it. In my mind, she was hot.

"Who are you?" I demanded, shaking off those feelings.

The girl said nothing. She reached over and grabbed her hat before I could react.

"You don't recognize me?" She said after a while.

I looked at her. "Tell me," I said, pointing her gun at her.

The girl rolled her eyes. "Mafia," She replied.

"You're the girl... the- the assassin?" I sputtered, my finger inching towards the trigger.

The girl smiled "That's me. You can go ahead and shoot me, by the way."

I lowered the gun. "No way. You're way too cute for me to just outright shoot you," I grinned. "Besides, I'm also a covert assassin. "Get in," I added, gesturing to the nearby Hummer.

Mafia nodded and started walking towards the Hummer.

I started the engine, and we drove back onto the pavement.

"Where to?" I asked.

Mafia shrugged.

"My name's Ian, by the way. Ian Clancy," I said, as I felt my face getting redder.

Mafia only hummed in response.

"Do you want to get something to eat?" I asked Mafia. "I don't suppose they have a Big Belly Burger on this Earth."

Mafia looked at me and shook her head. "I'm not hungry."

I gave up. "Look, do you understand that I'm trying to help you?" I asked in a calm tone.

Mafia laughed. "With what?" She asked.

"Where do you want to go?" I asked, patiently.

"Where would I have to go?" Mafia shot back.

I threw my hands up in surrender. "I don't know. But, I do have some unfinished business with my client at the downtown bar."

"Then go there. I'd technically need to go back, but I can't because of the cops back there." Mafia sounded frustrated.

I parked the car and opened the driver side door. "You coming?" I asked.

Mafia got out and looked at me "What do you think? I messed up a simple job, I'm going back there to fix it." She told me in a very sassy tone.

"So... no?" I asked.

"Well, yeah I'm not coming. Can I have my gun back now?" Mafia said, holding her hand out.

I sighed and passed over the pistol. "Good luck... Mafia."

Mafia put it back and walked away. After she had left, I walked into the bar to talk to my client.
