"Thanks, Ian." Awakening told me as I dropped her off at the police station.
"No problem," I said, digging into my bag, pulling out her file. "Sorry, I had to borrow this to find you." With that, I drove off, headed for a drink at the bar downtown.
Parking the Hummer in the parking lot, I walked in and sat down at table.
"Anything for you, sir?" A pretty waitress asked me.
I grinned. "Ginger Ale's fine," I replied.
The waitress left and out of the corner of my eye, I noticed a certain blond-haired girl walk in, gray hat perched on top of her head.
"What is it you wanted to talk about?" Mafia asked, sitting down.
I thought for a moment. "I just thought you might want to cool off after running away from a potential assassin," I said, grabbing the glass of Ginger Ale that the waitress handed me. "One beer for the girl," I added gesturing towards Mafia.
"Hello there Miss Hu-" The waitress began.
"Don't you fucking dare call me that." Mafia growled, cutting her off.
I raised my eyebrows."What was that all about?"
"Can't I have my secrets?" Mafia asked, smirking.
"Yeah," I said, taken aback.
"Good. You can have yours if I can have mine. That's my deal." Mafia said, leaning back in her chair a bit before chuckling. "I know, not much of a deal, but...Do we have a deal?" Mafia asked, holding her hand out, still smirking.
"Excuse me," I said waving down the waitress, "Can I start a tab for the girl here?"
The waitress nodded as Mafia sighed, muttering "Not this shit again."
I looked at Mafia. "What do you mean?" I asked.
Mafia glared at me. "This isn't the first time this has happened. You really don't think I know what you're trying to do?"
"What are you talking about? I asked. "This is supposed to be fun."
Mafia sighed.
"Hey," I said, grabbing Mafia's wrist as she started to get up. "What's the problem with having a little fun?"
Mafia pulled her wrist out of my grip and started to walk away.
"Come on," I pleaded. "Stay for a little while."
Mafia didn't respond but kept walking away.
I followed her outside. "What's wrong?"
Mafia looked around before running off.

As I walked into the Seattle Police District building, I accidentally bumped into the blond girl from before, Awakening.
"Hey, Ian," Awakening greeted me.
I sighed. "In here, my name is Devin, but yes, I am Ian Clancy."
"Oh my Grima," Awakening said, shocked. "I'm sorry, Devin."
I rolled my eyes. "I meant from now on."
"Officer Cord, Officer Miller," The Police chief yelled at us, "I need you two in my office now!"
I looked at Awakening who shrugged.
"Sir?" I asked as me and Awakening entered the Chief's office, "Is something wrong?"
The police chief gestured to the chairs in front of his desk. "Please sit," he said. "An hour ago, an apartment was attacked," He waited for the information to sink in before adding, "The assassin, Mafia is said to be involved."
"You want us to capture her, sir?" Awakening asked.
The police chief looked at Awakening like she was crazy. "Officer Miller, this assassin has caused us trouble for years. Shoot to kill."
"Yes sir," Awakening said, excusing herself.
I shook the chief's hand and followed Awakening.
"Hey," I called to Awakening. "Why didn't you give her location?"
Awakening turned to look at me, her eyes welling up with tears. "Ian, me and Mafia have been dating for at least two years."
