The Girl

El's pov:

I woke up early so I could take a shower before school, I dragged myself out of bed and walked sluggishly to the bathroom. Hop was already at work, to I had the morning all to myself. 

When I was done my shower I ran to my room and grabbed the first outfit I saw, I dried my hair while Eggos were toasting in the toaster. I put some music on from the radio and danced along with the beats as I ate, I imagined young me at the snowball, wishing Mike was there sighing at the sight of all my friends dancing with the dates they brought. 

Flashback:

"Come on El, you can't sulk here all night." Lucas said sitting next to me after dancing with Max.

"Uhh, yes I can, I didn't even want to go, but you guys dragged me here, I don't want to dance with anyone that isn't Mike." I told him getting up and walking to the bathroom. 

When I got back, Lucas and Max were back to dancing, their faces of pure joy, the face me and Mike had when we were together. I smiled a little at that, and sat down at my seat I had been sat at for the night. Max looked over at me and whispered something to Lucas and came to sit beside me.

"I know it hurts, I get it, I'm so sorry everything turned out this way." She said to me, grabbing my hand and putting her head on my shoulder. 

"I just miss him so much, it's only been 2 months but I still hurt, I need him back." I looked to Lucas who had joined up with Dustin and Will. "At least everyone else is doing better now." 

A knock on the door took me out of my trance, I looked over to the door and Mike was standing, a concerned look on his face. 

"You okay, you were staring off." He asked me walking into the house.

"Ya, I'm fine, just remembering something that happened a while ago." I told him, going in for a hug. 

He hugged me back, my hands went around his neck, and I played with the promise ring when my hands connected. 

"We should get going, we don't want to be late for school." He said pulling away from the hug, and looking right into my eyes.

"Ya, just let me grab my bag." I told him, walking towards my room.

I grabbed my backpack and walked to the living room where Mike was waiting for me. I turned off the radio and walked outside, I noticed Mike had brought his car so I walked in the direction of his. Mike opened my door and bowed, I giggled and he ran to his door. 

When we got to school, the boys were waiting for us at the front.

"I see the two love birds make up." Dustin yelled at us as we walked towards them. 

"It looks like Dustin wants to be a smart ass this fine morning, lets see Dustin where's your girlfriend?" I asked him taking a step closer and raising my eyebrows.

Everyone looked at him, and I smirked. He looked down and blushed.

"That's my girl." Mike said as he put his arm around my shoulders, leading me inside. 

Mike's pov:

I decided to drive to El's for a change, and when I got there, music was blasting and she was starring off into outer space. I knocked to get her attention, she still didn't respond so I knocked a little louder, that got her out of whatever she was in. 

"You okay, you were staring off." I asked her walking into the house.

"Ya, I'm fine, just remembering something that happened a while ago." she told me, going in for a hug. 

I hugged her back and put my nose on her head, she must've just taken a shower because her hair has a strong coconut smell. 

El grabbed her bag and we walked to my car, she still seemed a little off, so I opened the door for her and bowing like they did in an old movie me and El watched a while ago. She laughed and I got into the car, she still seemed off, but I didn't want to stress her out at school so I'll asked her later. 

When we got to the school, the party was waiting for us, we walked out of the car and Dustin being the idiot that he is yelled:

"I see the two love birds made up."  

I was going to make a snarky comment back but El beat me to it.

"It looks like Dustin wants to be a smart ass this fine morning, lets see Dustin where's your girlfriend?" El smirked at him.

"That's my girl." I said putting my arm around her shoulders, and lead her inside. 

We walked into the school and when we did, I felt everyone's eyes on me, I furrowed my eyebrows. I looked down at El and she looked confused too. 

We walked to El's locker and everyone was still staring at us. Lucas ran up to us, followed by Max, Will, then Dustin.

"You know when we were at the party about a week ago?" Lucas asked.

El and I nodded, "Well....the girl that kissed Mike kinda said they went a little further than kissing, if you know what I mean." Will said.

"She did WHAT!?!" El asked half screaming, she threw her things into her locker, and walked away. 

"Uh Oh, El's in badass mode, someone's going to die." Dustin said with wide eyes.

El's pov:

I was fuming, I stomped to the center of the school and got on a table.

"WHERE IS SARAH!?!" I screamed so loud that I'm sure the middle school could hear me. 

Mike followed by the party ran up to the crowd that had formed around me, Mike stared at me right in the eyes, he didn't break the eye contact as he walked up to the table.

"El, get down, your going to embarrass yourself." He told me softly, I melted at his voice, until I heard someone I didn't want to hear.

 "Well, isn't this cute, you do know he's a cheater sweets, he was amazing by the way." Sarah said stepping out of the crowd and walking to me and Mike. 

I got so mad, I jumped off the table and in one quick move I punched her square in the jaw, she fell holding her mouth. 

"Mike is not a cheater, he's been with me for 4 years, he might've not been there entirely but he was still mine, so if you could shut up, and tell everyone what a liar you are, or were are going to have more problems." I said standing over her, eyes wide and breathing heavy. I pulled her up by her collar, and stood her on her feet, quickly wiping the blood from under my nose, I can't pick her up myself.

"I'm s-sorry for lying, I kissed him, but he pulled back a second after." She said stuttering a little bit.

"Good, now if I hear any lies about me, or my friends, there will be some consequences, got it?" Sarah nodded her head. "That goes to all of you, do you understand?" a wave of nods and yeses went off, "Now scram." I said stomping the ground. Everyone ran or walked away, all except my friends who stood there with their mouths open.

"Quit staring, I was mad okay?" I said to them.

"Sometimes I forget how much of a bad ass you are." Dustin said.

Mike grabbed my hand and I looked at him. 

"My adorable bad ass." He said. 

I kissed his cheeks, then his nose, then his lips and let them linger for a minute.

"You guys are gross." Max said, we all burst into laughter
